To begin train simulator is a great game for rail fans to get a feel for what it's like to drive an actual locomotive, although not the most realistic of Sims it feels like a game that fits pretty decently between an arcade simulation and a realistic sim which appeals to more people. But like everything it's never going to be a perfect title. Poor optimization means some people with lesser computers/laptops will have the game run decently while some people with large gaming rigs or gaming laptops may be struggling to go above 40-60 fps. This mixed with the fact that the base game with its limited content is around 45 bucks and individual dlcs being around 39 bucks, well it wouldn't sit right with a budget conscious person and that unfortunately means it will drive away new (and some older) players of the game and with trainz a new era getting free third party content from people constantly, and the fact that patches for it are continually being released... This game has a somewhat small chance of holding up to the competitors product, I do recommend the base game and some of the cheaper dlcs for now but the future of the TS series is not looking great
