It's a different game than the first one, but it does stand on it's own feet. Can't wait for more story and features.

Like the first one, but better. Some new game mechanics are added, the UI is improved and the ships look better then ever with physically based rendering.

I can see why there's such a positive attitude towards the game, it's well fleshed out, fun and satisfying, with a good balance between challenge and exploration.

A real masterpiece, the atmosphere is breathtaking. This makes me wish Valve would release many more singleplayer story-driven titles.
