Counter-Strike: From Gold to Rust.

Counter-Strike has always been a game that I've enjoyed since the 1.6 days, and the franchise has evolved in many ways, some good steps and some bad ones, but Valve have always listened and delivered banger updates, tried their best and did make the meta at some points in the game actually playable at all levels. But these days, Valve have turned their backs on their best creations, CS2 and TF2, now treating them with such apparent disgust, that many people literally can't play this game anymore.

The first wrong thing about CS2 in my opinion are the graphics.
I've observed and predicted this since the trailers. There is a reason all prior versions of CS and even some of the FPS games of today don't have high-end graphics, that being performance. In each era of CS, that graphics weren't on par with the best of the best in their day, because players need performance, we need the fps so that we can react in time. This game spends too many resources on useless things, like "realistic" water and other reflective shenanigans. While I do believe that the ability to have a map in CS2 with such graphics is important these days, having every official map with so much detail makes people have lower fps than it was necessary. While the System Requirements are... good?, you still need to have a MUCH better system to not have weird issues, like freeze frames, lag spikes, and other weird fps issues, which makes the sys reqs misleading, because in an FPS you need to not have any issues. I understand that this isn't the biggest issue, but its the dumbest issue, as in that Valve could have made a similar looking game and have it perform much better without a lot of dumb things, especially materials for skins or special water, that become boring and stale after a month at most.

The second problem with this game is VAC.
Well, for pretty much all of its existence, CS has had cheaters. Valve have always tried to be non-intrusive, which I respect very much, as its very easy to give in to kernel ACs, but Valve can't seem to understand how cheating and cheaters really work in their games' communities. They always try to avoid something called "The Treadmill Effect", in which the problem is that you can eradicate the issue for a period of time, but it always comes back. This is the case for cheaters, however the small issue with this is that THE TREADMILL IS ALWAYS GOING TO BE HERE. So the best thing they can do is try to make is make VAC actually good, which can be done by updating the list of "banned" programs that if it detects on your system, you'll be banned. Also they can try and make it harder to match up in premier, and a lvl 10 and a bought prime can't work, you can use something like phone numbers, or an ID of some sorts(kinda like faceit) which is tied to your account forever and allows you to get in premier. For the rest of the game they can try to ban most obvious cheaters and most cheats used continuously monthly, which means updating the list of cheats/programs detected. Also fix things like multifire and other weird shenanigans, that shouldn't even be in the game to begin with. They added OverWatch, but they should make it actually usable. There's a plethora of ways to catch obvious cheaters, but those who are more low-profile and know how to cheat without showing their aces, are only caught by the AC, which can be hard to update with some limited cheats.

The third thing that ruined the whole experience for me has been the neglect of Community Servers.
They were the unofficial official servers in the beginning, Valve adding truly official servers in CS:GO, but in the last couple of years Valve have forgotten about the part of the game from where it sprouted, now even spitting in their faces with the new horrendous server list that doesn't work, the fact that after months from the release, its still difficult to create plugins, the new physics updates ruining movement modes like surf, and the way they hide community servers, thru an unknown button hidden somewhere, or thru the console only if you know the server IP. This shift from community servers to official mm would've been sad but forgettable in the long run, but Valve seem that they cant keep up to the demands. Community servers had a very powerful aspect in the cheater problem, which is the quantity of people and the moderation. Basically, it is possible for some people to moderate the server and ban people who are either low or high profile. Also community servers can use anti-cheat plugins, who aren't really changing the anti-cheat but that can detect things that cheaters exploit(mostly on bots or very risky cheats). All of this made community servers a safe space from cheaters, but because of the lack of performance and wasting of fps, the complete silence on plugin development from Valve and the way they hide and neglect community servers and their accessibility, it makes these empty wastelands, very few having communities, and this leads to very few good servers, as moderation comes with its downsides(corruption and power abuse).

The fourth reason(the most short one) is the lack of testing and the amount of bugs.
Now I know that any new game has a bunch of bugs and glitches, CSGO had a lot as well, but no version had so many game-breaking bugs at the same time and them being not fixed for some time. From the Angel-Boost to the random corner stuck, steps being not registered, MJ Peek, etc. This game had a lot of problems in competitions as well, as pros have been disconnected in matches, some important ones sometimes, which is ridiculous for a game of this size and "prestige".

The fifth and most irritating thing in this situation is the
LACK OF ACTION AND COMMUNICATION FROM VALVE.
The fact that they are focusing on skins and cases, which is just shameless, in my opinion, to squeeze money this way while your game's in shambles compared to its previous versions, the fact that they are developing and have developed a game that looks like an abomination, a combination of games like TF2, CS, Dota2, OverWatch, etc. which just sounds disgusting, and it being a hero-shooter which is cliche and a very stale genre, while having the biggest casual fps "hero"-shooter in their game catalogue, TF2, neglecting it the most, having been dominated by bots for a WHILE. The way that they don't communicate at all and don't interact with the community as much as in the past, having stupid fears and being paranoid because of projects which issues and drama could've been prevented if they've been more cautious. The radio silence that is Valve and the failures from the last years, makes it fall of the throne of Game Devs and Publishers, only good things that remain from Valve being the old games and Steam itself.

TL;DR: Valve plz fix don't screw up.
