It really shows the complexities of running a country well, while still trying to keep people happy and healthy.

It good

The game is ok.
The story has way too many modern tropes and ideals that might be acceptable to a small segment of society, but offend the rest in some fashion or another.
The worst part is the forums and how toxic and polarizing it is. I don't know what Larian was thinking when they came up with the storylines. Save yourself the trouble and avoid this game like the plague.

Interesting premise
Good graphics
Interface is easy to understand
Mostly functions as designed
Some resources regrow while others do not, much like real life

CONS
Even at the highest speed (3) the game moves at a slow pace, so there is a lot of waiting for the next season in which work can get done.
The exciting moment was after I first installed it, then it became a slog, game after game.

*Wait another few weeks or months to see if they fix or improve things before buying.

Pretty fun. Can be boring. Difficult interface.

My 'Yes' is more like 51% yes, 49% no.

The style is boring for me from the start. Completely static characters is visually unappealing.
The combat is repetitive, yet can be very complex if one digs deep. It can be very tactical with respect to unit position, actions taken, and in what order.

It is very challenging to survive, especially when attempting to keep a set group of units surviving together, let alone even one favorite unit.

But strangely, I kind of like it. A glutton for punishment?

Star Kings makes AoW a much better game. Of the 3 DLCs, this is the best.

This is exactly what I wanted. It has additional features, but is very much like SoD 1. I only wish there were more modders making mods, as they often add extra depth to games.

Easily replayable too.

Pretty cool!
