I personally have never had much fun with metroidvanias and have found them all to be incredibly tedious and boring. When I first started playing Hollow Knight it was the only game I played for weeks. I would play this game when I had the opportunity to play games with any of my friends because it's that incredible. Its simple beginning mechanics help pull you in, while occasionally expanding your arsenal of movesets. and its story, while starting off vague slowly starts to fall into place as the true marvel and masterpiece of this story unfolds before you. This is definitely one of the greatest games I've ever played in my life.
