Having played the Multiplayer prior to the Campaign being released, I am very pleased with Halo Infinite as of now. Being a OG Halo fan (ever since CE on the OG "Duke"), I always gave each installment a benefit of the doubt if it was getting a bad rep. This game is a very good apology for Halo 5: Guardians. My only complaint is the progression system for multiplayer; 50 xp per match regardless of how well you did? First rank is 1,000 xp? Kinda iffy, but I don't play multiplayer often.

EDIT; 2nd time review

I've come back to this game as I've gone through a game drought throughout the year. Do I still recommend this game? To an extent. It follows a specific niche as with any sandbox orientated game; you're forced to create your own story alongside the main game's story, should it be provided.

Starbound has a interesting story; not in a good or bad way. I believe that the story was much more illustrative with its mission designs + music to show you a story, rather than tell you. Not to say that it doesn't tell you anything- it does, but it isn't super deep. The jist being that you're finding artifacts from a select few races to face and destroy the Ruin. There's not a whole lot of exposition regarding why we should deem the Ruin as a threat, as they are hardly ever seen in the game excluding the two missions that are at the start then end of the game. My guess would be that the Cult is meant to stand in for them, but I never found them to be super imposing. They weren't "progressive with the story", even when you do the Peacekeeper quest; they didn't act like a cult but rather a generic goon-based faction.

The Loyalist Apex being under the Miniknog issue was a story in of itself but it was never expanded beyond the mission you learn of their antics- a mod expands upon this (Starforge, I believe?) by adding the Unbound. Anything expands the (arguably) short and simple story can make the game more enjoyable for people looking forward to playing a story-orientated game.

That being said, if you're looking for a story orientated game, I advise checking other games unless you want something short and sweet.

A huge talking point to me is the atmosphere and music of the game. All I need to say is that this is the type of music you'd vibe to in many scenarios. And if you're not vibing, you're relaxing to a methodical orchestral melody. The music alone is far more expansive than the story is trying to be and what it wants to be- recommend listening to the "Jupiter" track (a fine damn shame that it isn't on the OST...)- it's a strong song that can easily sum of the premise of the story ("Everything you had was lost. All your friends, gone. Nothing remained but you and your ship. But the stars out there beckon for your arrival and exploration. And who knows... maybe there is a small remnant of what you remember being what used to be a part of you- go on and be free.")

Starbound is one of the few games that I've played that has a OST that is complementary to the scenarios you are- the other game being Halo (especially Martin O'Donnell, Michael Salvatori and Steve Vai). I was surprised to see that Toby Fox was involved with the game when I glanced at the credits the 2nd time I played through the game. However much involvement he had, if any, I can tell there was some influence.

The music is simply exemplary, nostalgic, and timeless. A quality that few games I've played and heard of that reach this qualitative perfection. But that's my opinion.

I'm not a huge gameplay nerd unless the experience is too janky. Starbound's control scheme and UI is simple if not a bit annoying at times (your inventory always going to your middle), but it's not horrible or unplayable.

Comparisons to Terraria? They're there, but it's often something very specific and niche; I believe there's enough difference between the two games to make them much more distinct. I'd give many examples but I'd end up making a document on the differences. The main ones I'd like to point out is that Starbound as a actual by-definition story, bearing that you go on a series of quests from the start and end with a motive. Does this mean Terraria has no story? Not exactly, if you want to count obtaining all the Town NPCs and defeating all the bosses as a story whilst understanding the original out-of-the-game 'lorebook' of Terraria.

If you can find significant replay value with Starbound- friends or not, then it's a good game. But I would strongly advise looking forward to the content-based mods (stay away from the workshop if you're extremely sensitive to NSFW, apparently people have a pixel-kink...), as they heavily improve upon the game.

If you're looking for a time killer, I suppose the base game + various amounts of mods make this a good game for killing time. There's alternatives for sure, but I do appreciate some time into this game from time to time.

All in all? I'd give it a 8/10. I like the atmosphere the game has alongside its music, but the story could use some improvements in its length and depth. The music is simply astonishing and I'll never forget it.

Outstanding game if you've played other 2D Adventure games. While many will compare this to Terraria, and they're not wrong on that front, Starbound offers so much more content comparatively. Both games can suffer in the replayability factor, but Starbound not as much since there's quite a load of things you can do.

I'd heavily suggest playing the game and beating it first before you start running complicated mods (FU as a example). Though, minor mods like Weapons and whatnot are pretty fine in my book. Once you complete the game, that's when the Universe truly expands outwards for you.

While this game does have some limits in terms of mods, npcs, and customization for its NPCs, it offers vasts amount of replayability in terms of how you can create large armies. You could also create some great memes with this game, like a army of chickens firing artillery lasers at a incomprehensible speed.

Modding is supported with this game as evident with the Steam Workshop being shown, though I believe you must have something to run and publish Unity assets.

Great game, played on the free version only to want more to use the other towers (e.g Heli, Bloonchipper, Engineer and any other towers yet to be added that may not be added to their website). Very addictive once you get all the towers and a majority of the upgrades. Once you get the Co-Op, its even more fun, not to mention everything can be played with any strat or way, leaving up to endless possibilites. Worth it!
