With over 100hrs in Payday 3, I was surprised by this game.

Great multiplayer, rougelike conquer the city mode, multiplayer story chains, gunplay, health regeneration etc etc.

Seriously, this is far far better than PD3 in pretty much every way.

Got this thinking that this is a poor mans XCOM.....

After playing this, realised that XCOM is a poor mans Troubleshooter!

For a game that has all the hallmarks of being something great, they had to spoil it with bugs all over the place. Saves getting corrupt, games locking up in battles, abilities dont do what they are supposed to and all the usual bugs owlcat games are known for in the Pathfinder series.

Game will be worth it once the bugs are fixed, but until then, save your money.

I am basing my review on the most important factor in these types of games, which is how long it takes to see a crate.

Bonus - Explosive barrels have a explosive crate variant.

Run the tutorial, pick up a shotgun and shoot a guy with what looks like a sharp bone for a arm.

While looting, realised you can amputate with this sharp bone.... of course this game is not going to let you amputate yourself.......

After loosing a arm and a head later.

Recommendation is to avoid until the game has been fixed, as this feels like a alpha just now. I recommend BB2 until then.

Once of the worst things is the cut content - according to dataminers, it looks like they cut out seven complete teams that actually exist in the game files in order to push a battlepass that gives you the teams back at a rate of around three a year. If this is true then this would raise serious concerns. Additionally, if you were to use mods to enable these teams, then is it piracy?

I have launched this and game crashed on first attempt when generating universe. (Clean machine 64gb/3080/i9 CPU/ Full Z590 Chipset). Clean install and latest drivers as well (yes even Intel chipset drivers).

This is not a good sign and I would recommend to stay clear until they patch this game up properly.

Buyer beware,

64Gb, Top range I9 & 3080. Full Z590 Motherboard as well, before anyone brings up specs.

Also have latest drivers. Even the usual 2560 x 1440 results in a stretched screen, forcing lowering of resolution to 1920x1280

Game works ok in high detail(around 80+fps most of the time), but performance is terrible in ultra (Spikes 30-100fps), so advise to hold off until they patch it. If you have anything less than top end specs, then good luck!

Game also uses 100% of GPU resources, indicating there is a issue somewhere. Even if I move it from ultra to low it still uses 100% GPU and ignores any VSYNC options.

Currently unit AI just standing forgetting to attack enemies, and general battlefeel seems strange, especially given the excellent battle options in Total War Three kingdoms - it looks like they are using the same engine since TW1 rather than the newer Three Kingdoms engine.

Recommend to wait until a patch as I would imagine they will fix the issues eventually.
