Shadow of Chernobyl is a fantastic point of entry into the STALKER universe, as the difficulty and progression is a direct curve upwards with each mission you complete.

Paired with Autumn Aurora 2 (which you should definitely get, it's a vanilla-ish overhaul), this game aged like fine wine. It is so fun yet challenging, beautiful yet scary.

And the game IS scary. Each time the boss tells me to go into another lab to retrieve documents, I shiver. Levels that go underground are terrifying and claustrophobic, and will have you checking your mags every 5 seconds to make sure you are ready for what's behind the corner.

The map is huge in terms of your character's speed, but multiple places to stash your gear allow you to endlessly run point to point without it getting exhausting. Character design is on point, with a great storyline and factions to side with.

My only small gripe is the saving feature, but obviously is just a requirement for playing a game this old. I would definitely recommend making as many save points as you can, since there will be many times you will ♥♥♥♥ up / shoot someone / die / do something you aren't supposed to, and have nothing but a save file from 20 minutes ago.

Besides that this game is a 10/10 would cheeki breeki with mutant Russians again

This is easily one of the biggest failures of a development company. As a diehard fan of the series I don't even recognize what this game is. It's insane to believe but every single day I play this game I discover another game breaking bug that completely detaches you from the experience they are trying to sell. And that's exactly the core of my review: DICE and EA don't care about you or me. They don't give a ♥♥♥♥ that there's an uncountable, endless list of bugs. They want you to shut the ♥♥♥♥ up and buy their awful game and buy their skins while you are at it. 2/10 will never look forward to DICE games ever again. You lost me.

I have about 50 hours from 3 days of doing nothing but playing this game. Here are my Pros and Cons from that experience.

PROS:

-Engaging world.
The world design is top notch, and Aeternum feels large and small at the same time. Each Settlement (town) has their own unique atmosphere and area that gives you clues on the enemy types you will be facing.

-PVP/PVE
With a click of a button, you can toggle whether or not to be in open world PVP, which allows anyone else with the same to fight you to the death. This makes the open world more engaging, as at any point 5 guys could jump you while you are cutting down a tree.

-Crafting/harvesting
This aspect is my favorite. I have played GW2 before this, and oh my GOD does New World make grinding actually fun. These past hours I have just put a podcast on and happily went around chopping trees and gathering Iron. It is very relaxing and well developed.

But now here are the CONS
-Queue times.
I know like every single bad review is talking "I had to wait behind like 1400 people" but that's going to be fixed by next week. Also FYI there is absolutely no queue times from 8am-2pm EST.

-Optimization
I have an RTX 2070 Super and a RYZED 5700x, and this game runs fantastic on 1440p. But in many places the FPS will drastically drop, but an optimization patch should be releasing in the future.

All in all it's a fantastic world, great and hilarious community, and a really really good game.

This is a great game, not excited for them to patch assualt rifles in though. It has such a nice WWII feel to it.

This game has great mechanics, I have been waiting a long time to play it, and now I can confidently say it is not worth the time at all. I beat it in two hours, just enough time to get my money back.

I just got this game today, and man, in the 3 hours I played it, I can tell you this much:
It is just breathtaking. The pixelated style of the artwork, music, and animations are stunning. THe flow of the game itself if a masterpiece. There are so many missions and skillsets. The dialogue is perfection.
But don't just stop here! Buy it RIGHT NOW! You'll thank me later.

Worked for 1 day. ONE DAY. And now I can't even open the darn thing without it bugging out and stuff. D: I'm not saying you shouldn't get it, but I'm starting to have regrets...

Woke up, survived for a bit, saw a suvivor fighting 2 zombies, decided to help, afterwords, he showed me into a barn, and then i woke up in my underpants
