For someone who's played the former Hercule Poirot games, I wasn't thrilled about this one. It's very linear and kind of tedious. The deductions that go together don't always make sense, but that doesn't matter as it has zero consequences if you pick the wrong ones, and you can basically just keep putting facts together until you get it right.

Talking to characters is where you'll have to choose the right answers, but Poirot will often tell you what approach to take, which usually makes the choice too easy. The story is okay, but you don't have any influence on it and therefore I'd say it's more of a visual novel than a point and click game.

If you like detective and puzzle games with a good story, and especially if you love Sherlock Holmes, this is a good game for you; especially if you also love the mind and personality of Sherlock Holmes. In the game, you play as the 20-year-old Sherlock who returns to his childhood home, and you quietly help the master detective recover repressed memories through various cases and resulting consequences. The game has four possible endings.

I thoroughly enjoyed the game, that has both quiet and relaxing exploration of intriguing locations, mindboggling puzzles, tricky choices and actionpacked enemy interactions.
