Beautiful artist style, a soundtrack to match the era & simple yet effective gameplay, just a shame it's short.

Such a great game, the soundtrack is so well suited to it, the minigames in it work well, it's just it's too short!

I wished there was more of it, or you could delve into the background more, there's very little information about the current state of the world or the background of characters and how they know each other.

There's quite a lot of replayability in the game since there's a lot of options to choose from! An example is each bar conversation has the added effect of different answers depending on the drink emotion used. On top of that nearly all choices have consequences that run throughout the game. Unfortunately apart from the added difficultly/ease in some parts of the game, it doesn't have any effect on the ending.

There's a decent amount of comedy in the game, some of the best bits are when you choose enhancers for npc's or with the phone calls with the voice changer. You can get some good laughs out of messing around with npc's & the consequences they face.

Overall I'd recommend this game, it really is a great game, it's just too short for the price, get it in the sale if you can!

One of those games that could have been so much more!

The setting is so interesting, yet you can't really ever explore it as it's all linear levels. It's literally on rails! There's a handful of unique characters and apart from story interactions that's it! The battle system, although unique, gets repetitive and with the only real updates to it being more combo bars & additional moves, it's pretty boring by the end. It really lacks any customisation, with you only having control over the combo layouts.

To top it off, as others have mentioned, it doesn't seem to have worked well on PC. The camera is a nightmare in combat (you really need to see enemies to dodge) and the memory remix sequences are awful to control with a mouse. I got it on sale, I'd only recommend buying it cheap as you could pick up something soooo much better for less!!!

The poorer relation!

I was really looking forward to Pre-sequel, hoping for it to fill in the plot between the previous 2 games. The first thing you notice is there's less class choices this time around, plus there's no real dedicated character types like before. (There's no dedicated sniper without buying a DLC and as far as I know there's no Gunzerker, unless Wilhelm is half engineer/gunzerker)

I found it slow going at first, getting used to the oxygen and low gravity, but it soon picks up and you get access to the main city early on. The major drawback of it being on the moon is that the environments are very similar and can become tiresome. The vehicles are ok, I find the hover bike completely useless and a real pain to try and use right. It doesn't lift with boost just stays up longer, so you sort of have to boost after going off a jump but not too early or you'll fall to short!

The enemies in the game are extremely limited compared to BL2, their really all just phycho's in spacesuits. A lot of boss fights are plain and almost normal but with a few special moves thrown in and there’s no real special mechanic to beat them. Due to the length of the game (very short compared to BL2) you really have to grind levels later on in the game. It seems to take ages to get towards the end but then you seem to face a lot of bosses back to back and wonder where the rest of the game went.

P.S. I don’t know if it's linked to 2k Australia developing it but there's a lot of Aussie's on the moon!

Must have game, loads of replayability! Choose your side

Definatly a must buy for anyone who enjoys the fantasy genre! This game has a great story thats emotive and exciting, and especially with your actions shaping it. It's such an easy game to step into, I hadn't played the original game but it didnt take long to understand it all.

Stunning graphics, beautiful environments that really allow you to explore the fantasy world. Large maps that make you explore and leave no stone unturned. Rich lore throughout the game, from either reading books, talking to people or completeing quests.

The character upgrade system allows you to prioritise what you use the most, allowing you to concentrate on a perticular skill or to balance it across 3. Both armour and swords can be upgraded to match your playstyle too.

There are a few ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ one being sneaking is a forced action and you cant use it elsewhere. The other one being the save system, the game autosaves ALOT! and this means that you get to a point where the game crashes when loading or saving. This can be solved by deleting them every so often (note: they sometimes are in your steam folder if there not in the proper Witcher folder)

It's defintaly not an easy game to finish.

Some of the puzzles are very intricate and there's no hints, so expect to get stuck and have to look at a walkthrough. The fixed resolution is a tad annoying from the perspective of using the steam overlay but other then that you'd not notice. The graphics are detailed, it's just quite bare, an example is that you only interact with about 8 characters.

All in all it's a simple game that lasts a few hours, would I recommend buying it? Not a full price anyway. I think I'd spend a little more money and invest in Machinarium over this
