This really takes me back to the time of WC3 and the RTS games of that era. The ambiance, design and music just really hits a nostalgic and sorely missed note with me. I actually didn't notice before getting the game that it was a rogue-lite, still I loved it. The game play loop is solid, I haven't yet felt it as repetitive, as you always have to adapt to your situation.
The upgrades are substantial and choices that locks you into a game plan feels rewarding. With the risks and time pressure building up, every map get to you in some way. I would advise you to push for harder difficulties as soon as you see yourself doing well. It scales well with upgrades and player skill. This makes the maps a lot more interesting. It is the constant worry around your settlement that keeps you invested.

I strongly recommend this game if you feel like any of this sounds appealing. It is at least worth a try even for just experiencing the aesthetics and personality of the game. Takes me right back to my teens.

One of the top platformers of our time, simply stunning.

Sad that the reviews at the start have such an impact still. The disconnection issue sure was a bother, but it got fixed in about 2 weeks and have been stellar since (in my experience atleast). You can see on the chart that 90% of the bad reviews are from those early weeks.

Appart from the somehow bland weapon design (for my taste) early on, the game is in a really good state now;
- Lots of content
- Really satisfying with how you learn as you go, you will start to feel like an experienced hunter after a while
- So many "holy crap!" moments, both hilarious and terrifying
- Hella of alot of fun with friends :D

Important to find a playstyle that fits you, try alot of wepons early. I know alot of people go for heavy weapons only to feel like the gameplay is slow and clunky. You will in the end enjoy most of them tho. Happy hunting!

- 20 minutes of walking, 5 minutes of action. Rinse and repeat.
- If you get by the bugs and terrible optimization that is.
- Loot/chance of winning is more or less rng.
- Every patch is several gigs of data with nothing in it.

Game is successful so devs are doing the bare minimum to keep it alive until it dies out.
Just browse the player feedback and compare to patch notes/planned changes and you'll see.

In my hunble opinion, the best platformer in modern gaming.
It's a great tribute to the old classics!

My favorite part is the uniqe cast of villains,
they really stand out and makes the game rich with content and satisfaction.

Hidden items and gear can be used in so many ways.
(^Megaman style but abit more flexibility)

A great mix of Castlevania, Mario, DuckTales and even Megaman.
I can't see anyone not enjoy this game, and the effort that went in truly shows in every frame!

As you see I'm biased, but if it's on sale you should really try it out!
