A beautiful story written by people who aren't ashamed to be making a slick video game that feels good to play.

15 bucks feels like highway robbery for something this good, imo.

I don't know if there's ever been a game that hits as hard as a Schwerer Gustav for me.

Until now.

Early Access Review
Okay, this game is....well...odd.

Simple pros and cons.

Pros

-Simple to play. And Free, basically.
-Looks surprisingly nice, for being a Roblox mod at one point.
-Often updates
-Mechanics are fairly solid.
-Modding support. This is kind of a double-sided coin, though. More on that in a bit.

Okay, the simple stuff aside, my main problems.

-The community is what you'd expect for a DayZ-like game. More Toxic than Mercury. Ths is due to a couple things. One in particular being it's Free nature, thus anyone who wanted to play DayZ and the like, but don't wanna fork up cash come here. Usually, that means little kids. That also means that joining a public server is a death sentance to your sanity.
Pewdiepie played this game ages ago, so that may have contributed, but alas, that's the past, so i'm gonna go to the next point.

- Unless you have friends to play with, the game gets boring. *Really* fast. Mostly because there's not much reason to do a whole lot by yourself. This is part of the reason I don't really play anymore, as finding friends is basically impossible.

-Weapons feel pathetic, to be honest. This is more a personal gripe than anything, but it should be noted regardless.

-The atrocious lootbox system. Look, I see why they exist (because Nelson has to eat, which is fine), but it feels like the devs (Or Dev, in this case.) only wants to milk my wallet of all it's worth.

-Remember me saying the Modding support is a good thing? Well, I stand by that. HOWEVER, slogging through the mess that is 60% of the absolute crap on the workshop is barely worth the trouble. By "crap", I mean the 100 round auto snipers, damn near infinite storage backpacks, and just plain weird sh*t that people make every. f*cking. day. Barely any of which seem to have any thought put into them. Might as well play Minecraft Creative mode at that f*cking point.

(Yep. Completely salty about that. Shoot me.)

Anyway, i'm going to stop there, before I start ranting about random sh*t.

TL;DR, A good game, bad f*cking community. Not unlike basically every other entry in the genre.

Bought this game not long into it's early access phase, and I don't regret it in the slightest. Good for quick fun.

Perhaps one of the best examples of what Early Access is about. The Devs actually care about their game, and the community, and it shows.

Very, very worth the $15, unless you're a Dictator of some third world country.

Plus, who wouldn't want to play as their childhood heroes in the name of all things patriotic?
