Despite frequent crashes, this game is the racing extravaganza I had been waiting for my entire life.

Absolute banger. Looks amazing, drives like a dream, runs smoother than silk.

The pricing is a bit rubbish, though. Only recommended as a deep sale purchase, and mainly as an Ultimate Edition package (for the complete experience).

This is a game that is kinda okay when solo, but it is sooooo much better with friends.

Probably gonna be able to play forever with no end because there are always new things to discover, so there are numerous opportunities to make your own fun.

It provides me with the same warm, fuzzy feeling I longed for in a NFS game since Underground 2.

Also, it has the following strong points for anyone that wants a chilled racing experience:

+ The cops are there, but they are not an overly aggressive force, and your car isn't limited in its hunting capabilities by a depleting health bar like in NFS Heat. If you so wish, you can go hunting out there and toy with the police or even take them out without worrying about your car getting wrecked and your pursuit ending in an unpleasant way.
+ Toyota cars are in this one, thank god. I can finally go crazy, building my killer AE86 drift machine or my land rocket Supra with 1000+ horsepower.
+ Graphics look great. People have been bashing this game to hell and back for overusing the gritty, wet street look combined with constant nighttime to force a "photorealistic" look, but it seriously looks damn good and the cars really pop within the environment. Again, this harkens back to the Underground glory days and it is so refreshing.
+ Sound design is top notch. The cars sound mean and the exhausts meaty, but above all I am in complete and utter love with the forced induction breathing in and sighing out, every time I slam on the accelerator or let it off.
+ Visual customization is out of this world. There is one character in the career mode that will get tiring very fast with her "master build" cheesiness, but you can indeed flesh out a master build unlike any other.

The only negatives I can point out is the choked economy system which forces concerning amounts of grind to acquire and upgrade cars, and the limited garage and warehouse space which will limit you to a total of 10 cars.

I thoroughly recommend it, especially if you can bag it together with NFS Heat in a sale for a deep discount.

This is a highly flawed game with amazing potential that waits to be realised.

Lots of bugs pop up every so often, there are fundamental mechanics of the game that are downright broken, but at the end of the day it is a masterfully stylized RPG that can easily become very addicting.

It was really difficult to get a grasp of how the hours were passing by as I was playing, because I was thoroughly immersed in the narration and action and couldn't stop going.

A recommended title from me, but with a huge "buyer beware" caveat that must be stated.

I can finally love to death all the majestic games I didn't get to play as a teenager, because my 1st-batch XBOX 360 decided to brick itself back in the year of our Lord 2006.

Set the game to Legendary difficulty. It's an amazing challenge and an experience with gripping lore.

I am officially addicted.

Play this amazing cinematic experience, and you will find out.

Beware: this game seems barebones, some might say unfinished, in comparison to earlier entries in the series, such as the magnificent Race Driver Grid from 2008. It has fewer racing disciplines, a narrower selection of cars and an even narrower selection of exciting real-world tracks. Here, you will find no Spa-Francorchamps, no Nurburgring, and worst of all, no Le Mans.

BUT

It runs smoothly, is fun to pick up and play, works like a charm with almost any controller, and has a streamlined career that will have you racing in almost no time, without the added hassle of out-of-the-track mechanics or confusing menus. The graphics are absolutely brilliant, the sound is rich and the action never stops.

A full-price tag of 60 euros or you regional equivalent is IMO too steep, but if you can snag this one on a sale, don't even think twice. Just pick it up and go burn some rubber.
