This game is great! I've been enjoying it. Most of my hours are on the Epic version. I really appreciate the devs offering a free steam key to those who owned it on the Epic store for the first 30 days of the Steam release. As thanks I decided to purchase the Content pass for 40$ on their website to plug into Steam.
The previous engine issues (Late game stuttering) that Rebellion had are non existent, and game looks fantastic. It plays functionally very similar to the original although there are new resources now that are required for more advanced ship construction like capitols and titans. (These have little gem icon costs). The research trees for each faction are all new, and the way research works has a new spin on it (utilizing building slots). Planets now have building slots to upgrade them further beyond the standard upgrade buttons they used to have. Same with capitol ships and Titans, they now also have customizable improvement slots.
Star bases have like 8 of these slots which is how you upgrade your Star bases now. The maps can get fairly big, and now there's a planet orbit mechanic (which you can optionally disable) that can move and orbit planets around the sun(s) changing up warp lanes as the game time passes.
So far, same factions, similar ship/unit types, each with 2 sub factions. (Upcoming Harbingers Expansion will change this)
There are already some Sins 2 mods available online, and the dev supports modding with their official forums containing a modding sub forum.
All in all an interesting new spin on the classic Space RTS!

Game is fun, I'm enjoying it despite the current fps cap of ~40 due to optimization, and the mtx.
Combat feels good, and exploration and discovering new enemy types and player made companions is exciting.
I don't like how during the dialogue npc lips don't quite sync up when they talk, hopefully this can be fixed by devs or a later mod.
I happened to see a level 57 Pawn in the 'Pawn shop' named Rose, that if someone were to purchase them for real money it would cost 142,168 Rift Crystals or ~285$. xD Not sure what is going on there.. but that seems rather excessive.
Going to continue to ignore the Mtx and not even open a Rift Stone for the foreseeable future. :)

Best 3.5 hours I've spent completing an indie game in a long time.
Well worth the 2$ I got it for on sale and more.

This game is great. :)
Lives up to the Civ classics but set in space with different and interesting alien civs to pick from.
More turn based focused than Stellaris, but I like that there are only warp lanes to go between different sectors and other than that, you can pretty much go in any direction you want. Lots of different options to set at the start if you want to make the experience easier or harder. Has Multiplayer.
Liked it so much I've pre-purchased the DLC season pass to support the devs.

Game is fun. It's like a nomadic airpunk version of Homeworld combined with a city builder, but there's no enemy air raids to worry about, you just have to make sure you don't run out of resources and down yourself. :)
That being said, They NEED to add some sort of giant red flashing notification for when your kingdom is off balance, or some sort of meter at the top of the resource bar of the screen or something, because it's very easy to put your kingdom off balance and not even notice until 4-5 citizens decide to jump ship at the same time because of it, severely hindering your economy and population growth with very little notice. It's easy enough to fix once you realize. Also, the game still crashes on occasion, even though it's been fully released for over a year now. Hopefully they'll patch these issues before fully moving on to Airborne Kingdom 2, which I will be looking forward to.

tldr; 8/10!

It's fun! :) it's a different take on Space Grand Strategy 4X RTS, where it doesn't force you to use hyperlanes like Stellaris, and where the limiting movement/expansion factor is typically fuel. (Caslon) I like that it has a lot of resource variety as well, and that you can completely automate the civilian transport industry, among other things.
I'll be honest, it still needs some work done on some of the Fuel Tanker AI, and some of the pathfinding in general. The notifications can be a bit much until you filter them, same with the automation until you customize that. But I've been able to get quite a bit of enjoyment out of it.
Looking forward to more patches from the Devs! Game Crashes to Desktop occasionally. (I would really like to see the ability to be able to mass fill up fuel tanker fleets with fuel while they're all simultaneously selected, as it stands you have to fill them up one by one with right click or ctrl click while individually selected, please comment if i'm missing something).
Hopefully co-op will be added later officially or with a mod.
Cheers for all the hard work!

tldr; 8.5/10!
