Less of an action-packed zombie apocalypse game and more of the best zombie apocalypse simulation out there.

Everything below is in regards to Build 41 of the current beta branch, and the way you should be playing. Build 40 is still great, but B41 takes the game to an incredible new level.

Let me preface this by saying the other zombie games out there are fun in their own right, but PZ is a different type of game from those, and does things those others don't do. Zombies are an actual threat. Not an annoyance, or something fun to blast with the plentiful amount of ammo you found or made. A threat. Jump through the wrong window when you're tired? Good job, you got bit twice even though you managed to flee. You're dead. Misjudge what's on the other side of a window in the mall? Good job, you fell two stories and broke your leg. Now you're slower than them, and you probably won't make it out (you didn't). Fling open a door in a house and rush into the room without stopping or pausing to consider what's on the other side? Congrats, three zeds pulled you down to the ground and you couldn't stop them. Decided to take your fancy new pistol out for a spin and pop off a few shots? Now all of China knows you're here! And the zombies! Good luck escaping the horde, and better hope you didn't decide to pop off near whatever shack you're calling a base is. Oh yeah, and all of those things are things I did that got me killed. And one of those was after the 100 hour mark, so no, you don't become an invincible killing machine. I had a ton of armor *and* a new katana and still got got for my stupid mistake.

This game is incredible. It'll be even better once multiplayer is out (written 13Jan2021). But hey, why wait? The game is already fantastic in singleplayer, and from the sound of the incredible dev team (they're great, constant updates and news) multiplayer is finally moving into the last few stages of testing and bug fixing, so hopefully it's only a couple more months.
