Some real shovelware (haha).

I had low expectations, but somehow a game about digging a hole (something I'm usually a big fan of in any context) disappointed. The digging isnt fun compared to almost any other game that allows it. It should be easy to trigger the ol' monke brain when digging random holes in the ground, but it just looked ugly here; very unsatisfying results despite my efforts to keep things neat. Holes are messy and floating bits of dirt, that are an annoyance to remove, constantly get in the way. Map is small (made smaller by annoying bedrock everywhere), and mostly empty. There's a few items/chests to find, but they only give you stuff you'll have an abundance of anyways. Unsurprisingly there's no real challenge, just grind out the best gear to make digging faster, but with nothing else to do, you might as well finish the game well before then.

Despite all that, for 5 bucks I wouldn't have complained if it wasn't for 2 things. The ending and achievements.

Ending sucks. Its a separate zone at the bottom of the map. You can't dig, You can't use your jetpack. You can't use dynamite. All you can do is briskly walk past some oversized moles to the empty treasure chest, and then die to said moles in the end cutscene. Felt very out of place and easily the lowest effort part of the game.

Achievements can't be unlocked until the second playthrough. I have no idea why. There isn't really anything new besides this on run 2. Maybe this is my fault, but upon reaching the end area and noticing that I hadn't unlocked anything yet, I figured I must have missed something. Spent way too much time looking for secrets around the map. Basically dug out everything and found nothing. I didn't expect to get every achievement on the first go, but the way its set up here just felt like the dev wanted to pad out the playtime of game clearly very sparse on content. Super obnoxious, and made me waste way more time on this game than it deserved.

There are many games with better digging experiences.
5 bucks is cheap, sure, but you could also dig holes outside for free if you wanted, and that never disappoints.

Don't know how most of the game works, make the rest of the crew maintain the sub while I just shoot the aliens. Pretty good time 10/10

In a planet full of countless raiders, giant bugs, and killer robots, the single biggest threat to my colony has been my dude with the depressive trait constantly going on insulting sprees and bringing the vibe down. 10/10
