The Legend of Heroes series is one of my favorite series but coldsteel just sour my taste on the series. The game isn't bad enough for it to be trash, but it's not good enough to recommend someone to play through this, I would rather tell them to watch a let's play to save your time and money on this game (just coldsteel in general). I played through this game on nightmare and took around 89 hours (had a lot of idle time so stream say 130) and it felt like nothing happened in the game till the last 20hour of it.

[Gameplay]
There isn't much to say about it other than it's way better than cs1/2, playing on nightmare makes me really hate how most boss are designed to self heal. Self healing makes it feel like you HAVE to break the game or perma stunlock the boss just for you not to waste a huge amount of time or straight up can't beat it if you go the slow and steady route. Not going to really complain how easy it is to break the game when it feels like it's just designed for you to either break/exploit the game or lose or just lower the difficulty so you can turn off your brain.

Other than that starting off was pretty fun and challenging till you just get to the point when you just auto battle + turbo most random encounter because how broken the break system is.
Overall for game play it boils down to “it only hard when it boss actually get their turn”, other then that most boss fight might as well end when you can break it stance and make sure it never get it turn and BOOM!, you won the fight the final boss is a joke as well :( .

Going to keep this one short as I'm not professional in music. Simply put, it's just bad for 80% of the track. I Know that coldsteel doesn't have the best music compared to the Sky and Crossbell but they somehow lower the bar from CS1/2 to 3. There are not even a handful of music/battle music i actually enjoy from cs3, i feel like I only like 2-3 music out of the game that wasn't a reuse/remix of a song from the older games.

[Story]
To be blunt, the story of the game is the biggest reason for not recommending this game. Cold steel already imo have a pretty a** way of storytelling and the quality of the story in general, so i went into the game trying not to judge it or try to compare it to the Sky/crossbell series this time around like i did the first two. But even a god-like story couldn't stop me from seeing how the first 3 chapter , which the game has 4 + prologue and final chapter, might as well be copy and paste from each other. 50 hours in for me to realize that it feels like the same event is happening over again but at a different place and different characters, It feels like they had to find some way to pad out the game that they forgot to actually try to make the chapter feel different from each other.

The game story feels like it just brags on and repeats itself instill chapter 4 where it feel like they drop repeating the story and actually progress the main plot enough, but at that point we around 60-70 HOURS IN for it to feel like it is going somewhere that isn't just a loop. It took way too long and i honestly give up on the story and just stop caring once i reach the end not going to even go into detail how the game just end in another cliffhanger

[Misc+TLDR kinda]
Tbh i feel like most people who are really into the coldsteel series already know some problems that persist throughout the series like too many character, bonding system and have the school free day (like seriously who wanted that back).

I really love this series, i beat the game on nightmare hoping i'll enjoy a better challenge, heck i’m not surprise it have a high rating cause the core of the game isn’t really the bad thing, but the story just feel flat which really did hurt this game for me seeing that i really did get into the series because it have enjoyable gameplay, great music and a hella good story, But man cold steel 3 don't live up to the other series nor does it do well by it self.

Fun game, nothing much to say if you like ARPG give this game a shot.
