Not without its flaws, but if you think you'll enjoy it, you will.

Believe it or not, someone with "Dragon" in their name might be biased towards a game where you play as a dragon. Shocker, I know. But regardless of said bias I do think the gameplay itself is really well done. There is a wide variety of builds you can go for, with a bit less randomness than in most deck builders, while still providing incentives to try out different strategies. I heavily enjoy tying achievement to in-game buffs, requiring you to complete a challenge as a sort of "rite of passage" of obtaining a powerful boss mechanic, which can then be crucial to a destructive build. The elemental mechanics are also a really good mix of useful when you're starting of, and really powerful once you get a hang of them, with the order of attacks often strongly impacted by their elemental effects.

That being said, it's not all fire and brimstone. While the gameplay itself is really well done, the surrounding gameplay experience is more of a medium-rare, and that's not good when dealing with flying creatures like dragons. It's not that things are bad, but it feels like it's not living up to its potential at times. VFX are wonderful, but SFX feels lacking here and there. Phase transition for bosses are great gameplay-wise, but also slightly underwhelming in how they happen. And while I love the concept of the dragon cave, it feels like there could be so much more done with it, and that it should've been unlocked earlier in the game.

I'm sure a lot of things will be improved as updates happen, and feedback/suggestions from players roll in. The devs have had a very rapid pace of updates in the beta period, so fingers crossed for everything to be ironed out within a month of release. If you're on the fence and here around release time, it might be worth waiting a bit to experience the game at its best a few patches from now. But if a slightly imperfect experience sounds like something you can overlook, then the actual game that's underneath is really, really good.
