It's ridiculously classic retro FPS fun, all for the easy indie price tag. As someone who was a fan of Space Marine 1, this game is the PERFECT appetizer for what's to come in SM2, and the devs did a wonderful job incorporating the tabletop mechanics into something that can be understood in this game. That, and invoking the names of Titus and Sidonius in the cleansing of Graia is a great call back to the debut of SM1.

Ave Imperator!

343's least appealing release in a decade. So many good things about the original Halo games are not present here. I couldn't stomach their progression system being hard-locked to challenges, and the fact that Match XP is going into beta is not encouraging. I usually play Call of Duty games for the campaign and their multiplayer progression is far more tolerable since one can choose to play their preferred game mode, on their preferred map, and progress the content pass just by playing.

They promised split-screen. That promise was broken on their announcements for updates to Season 2 and the lead up to Season 3. Even if I primarily play on PC, this feature was bugged in older test builds, only for the devs to patch it out. Dang it, 343, I hope you keep out pay options for Season Points in MCC.

EDIT: Typographical error corrections
ADDENDUM: This review may change if they actually do pickup the slack moving forward.

It's more of a game demo for length, but a nice flex of Nvidia RTX. Interesting FPS mechanics here too.

I wish they could fix the scrolling of the options menu though, no way to drag down the scroll bar for game options.

If you thought Crash N. Sane was a good remaster, THIS just raises the bar. A perfect revisit of a childhood classic.

This is the game that made me believe in Ray tracing and AI-based performance-for-efficiency upscaling (a la DLSS), and simple gameplay that was fun to wield in the closed environment of the Oldest House. I was pretty much enjoying my time using the world to smash Hiss creatures. So worth the wait of one year at a better-value package.

I never thought I'd get a game to make me cry. Not in a long while. Even so, this has been the wildest philosophical ride.

If you can make the FAR mod work, then you get the following:

Gameplay is solid. Thanks, PlatinumGames.
Story, world building, and Atmosphere is a cut above anything I've played in quite some time. Characters make for compelling experiences too.

But the message the game leaves for a game with a rather dark and depressing atmosphere is pretty resonant as a message in the world I play this game and post its review in. Who knew a bunch of pretty androids would remind us of an effort that makes humanity something worth striving to uplift.

And if the player who reviews this game sees my message floating in the network to request for my assistance in reaching the golden ending, hit me up here. I'd be glad to play games with you too.

It perfectly recaptures the spirit of my childhood, and with the bonus of including the console missions AND is open to modding, and there's no need for an Origin login for the Steam Version?

I'm not sure which is the better remaster, this game or StarCraft: Remastered?

Absolutely the best way to celebrate its silver anniversary.

I was never really too much of a survival horror fan, more of an action survivor fan. So playing a Resident Evil game that is mechanically a faithful modernization of the older RE titles was certainly a notion-changing experience. Honestly, I think one run is enough for my sensitive heart, but I'll be damned if it doesn't make me feel ready for the true horrors that await me in Resident Evil 3 - a childhood demon that I intend to put down for good.

2019 contains a lot of games that didn't launch well, and surprisingly, this game isn't one of them. I wasn't part of insider flighting, but I can attest to the November 24 update actually delivering on the concerns of people on KB+M controls being out of tune. The sound, there is still a lot of work, but man, the Microsoft groups really delivered well on this game, I can now appreciate what I missed out so many years ago.

Early Access Review
If you can get the On A Rail Workshop mod to work as well as the classic ammo counts, this would feel like old school Half-Life but with a modern look. Xen beta looks hella breathtaking, and it's worth the admission price for that. The Crowbar Collective has also done a bang-up job of doing justice to the Source Engine here, showing graphical fidelty and bringing life to a timeless classic.
