There's really nothing here, it's a pretty mid story, the game play loop is bare bones, the tutorial isn't incredibly intuitive. Map markers don't show up or at least aren't making themselves noticeable until after a bit, even then there's no hud elements telling you which direction you should be going so often times it's not intuitive where you should be going. The fact that this is a single player game with an in game store also just makes it super terrible. Just give us back the original HAWKEN and most of us would be happy.

If you've played the past entries, then this is just more, and better. Coming from 4, Mexico is a WELCOME change, so vibrant, so beautiful, so much to see, so much to do. The cars are amazingly detailed, and the way you can customize all of it is just wonderful.

Overall: Love the game, but it's been unstable and unplayable as of late with mods most users already use and have confirmed that they work well together.

You know, I love this game, I've been using this as my go to game when I just want to chill out and enjoy something, but ever since the Paradox Launcher was added the stability has suffered greatly.

Things I've had issues with: Loading times get ridiculously unstable randomly, game might crash during loading, Main Menu might not let you click out of the "Message of the Day" sometimes, Mod Menu locks up way too often, once you finally get into the game if you think about hitting the Escape key the game might just crash to desktop, not to mention even playing the game in windowed mode things seem to be even MORE unstable.

This is also not going into privacy concerns with the Launcher, but I'm usually not one to worry about that kind of stuff personally, I know what they're collecting, and I know if they're collecting more than what they're saying, well that gets into a whole different kind of hot water.

It's free, yes it has a grind, but I mean when DOESN'T a free thing have a grind? They allow you to buy warframes, but it's not required, you can actually get everything within the game through just trading or grinding for it, including most Primes if they're available at the time.
Story's pretty good, game play is very easy to pick up and just play for a bit, but there's a numbers game as you progress, and if you don't keep up with the numbers game you might not be as effective as you can be.
Community is pretty chill most of the time, most veteran players are willing to help out new players, but there's always the vocal minority that can make the game off putting for most new players.

Nostalgia says Yes. Replaying says Yes. It's a game that set the stage for many amazing Western Fantasy RPGS.

A fun place to hang out with friends online, and just have a fun time.

Started off back on Gmod, then the devs realized "Hey we can do this better if we make it standalone" and that they did. *Note: May not be the real reason for their move to Unreal

Ya know, I could review this in a good way, or I could tell you that you'd be entering into one of the bigger time sinks of them all. But that's not true, surprised they've been keeping this going for this long over all, at least they should try and fix their Physics so the baracades and windows don't break in client side.

At the moment of this review, I cannot recommend this due to the lact of Youtube or Soundcloud streaming support. Until those have been restored, the game isn't very playable.

This isn't there yet, the soundscape is nonexistant making the levels feel more empty than it should, the leveling system is weird and doesn't work right (Personal Experiance). Like mechanically the game is really well done, I never got to play Tribes Ascend but this is what everyone told me it would be like, but it's lacking some things to make the game feel a bit more alive. Movement system really plays it self to the levels as well, if the levels are flat and boring, then the momentum the movement system relies on isn't there. Like I get it, it's supposed to be moutians, deserts, or weird sci-fi bases, but figure out ways players can gain momentum, keep the fast pace going, and just fling themselves around the map, it's WAY more fun.
Also the vehicles, why are they locked so far away? It makes certian maps unplayable because of the distance and the fact that it only takes one guy in flying/hovering vehicle to just camp your spawn.

Otherwise it's a great idea, just needs work, if it doesn't get the work, I feel personally that the player base won't last, and it'll end up like the game that inspired it.

Modding is a huge thing to help a game survive, don't shut it down, keep it up, work with modders to fix the exploits the FEW were using.
