A fun little proto-metroidvania heavily inspired by Castlevania 2 and 3. The lewd elements can be pretty much entirely ignored; they are merely window dressing for a remarkably solid 8bit-style adventure.

Unfortunately, while I had a good time with Midnight Castle Succubus, it does have a few glaring faults. First and foremost, backtracking is an enormous pain given the lack of warps or indication on the map of how gates connect to each other. It's certainly true to the source material, but definitely hurts the experience when you just want to fill in that one missing room or otherwise hunting collectibles.

The other issue I had with the game was that the last few bosses are quite spongy and take an honestly absurd number of hits to down. Solid boss design all around (albeit perhaps with too simplistic patterns in some cases), but their monstrous HP pools can feel a little tedious.

On the technical side, I had zero crashes or other showstoppers beyond getting stuck once and needing to reload a room. Do note that the game does not support xinput, and depending on your controller's directinput mappings, rebinding may be necessary. Shift+Enter toggles fullscreen.

Ultimately, I can definitely recommend Midnight Castle Succubus for anyone who has nostalgia for Castlevania 2 and 3 and isn't too embarrassed to have a lewd game in their steam library. :)

Gets boring fast alone, but is incredibly fun in short spurts or when playing in a party with friends. If you aren't making fun of other people's failures, you're doing something wrong. :)

The Evil Within 2 is a strange beast. It's a decent sequel to a much more inspired game, but often feels designed by committee. The core gameplay is superior to its predecessor, but the story, environments, and atmosphere all feel like a downgrade.

The minute-to-minute experience is good enough to make it worth playing, but the uninspired plot and less imaginative environments in the game's latter half drag it down considerably. I'll recommend it, but only at a deep discount.

Expansion is amazing and overflowing with quality content, but the port is atrocious mostly due to Capcom's inept addition of even more anti-debug code.

Much like my initial review of the base game, I can recommend it wholeheartedly once the technical issues are sorted out. However, currently I cannot do so in good conscience. Hopefully Capcom takes note and fixes are forthcoming soon.

Easily one of the best remakes in recent memory. It recaptures everything fondly remembered about the original while modernizing the gameplay just enough to keep it fresh and approachable to new players.

Whether you're an old series fan or a newcomer, there's just tons to like about RE2 Remake.

If Left 4 Dead had a baby with Warhammer 40K and Aliens, it would probably look something a little like Deep Rock Galactic.

But all bad "in a nutshells" aside, DRG is considerably better than most of its competitors in the cooperative wave survival genre due to the addition of complex three-dimensional navigation. Your concern with how to get to the resources you want to extract, and then how you'll get back afterwards adds a uniqueness to every mission missing in those other titles.

If you want something to scratch that L4D itch and Vermintide isn't quite cutting it for you, DRG may be exactly what the doctor ordered.

It's hard to express how much joy it gives me that this project ultimately managed to deliver on its promises after so much troubled development and drama along the way. It's the Castlevania that we wanted but were denied, now presented to us just as we hoped it would be -- thoroughly Castlevania in all but name.

PC port is also excellent. Zero crashes in 48 hours of play, and running at a smooth 144fps almost perpetually, with only very occasional loading-related stutter outside of one boss attack.

If you like Castlevania, you're going to love it.

Obnoxious time limit aside, it's a great taste of what is sure to be an extremely fun game. While DX12 mode has inexplicable performance issues, DX11 mode runs great and looks fantastic.

If you're at all a fan of the original, you're likely to walk away very impressed.

EDF is pure, wholesome, family-friendly, bug-slaying FUN!

We could talk about all sorts of issues with the design (most of which are addressed in EDF 5), but the simple reality is that what you're getting here is an extremely fun experience which you'll get tons of hours of enjoyment out of. Anything bad you could say about it would ultimately be nit-picking.

The port may be of questionable quality, but it's still Monster Hunter. You'll have fun with it.

Maybe not as much fun as you'd have if the port was better or it had the amount of content found in earlier games in the series, but you'll have fun all the same. You'll have more fun with friends or if you bring a controller, but even solo and playing KB/M, it's still a really enjoyable experience.

Hopefully most of the issues can be ironed out when we get its inevitable expansion, but for now it's still a solid game without any real competition in its niche on Steam.
