Easily the most approachable game From Software has ever made. For all its massive scope and epic lore, what stood out the most to me when playing it both originally and in multiple subsequent playthroughs, was the way its design strips away a lot of the frustration in earlier titles and almost overflows with quality of life decisions to ensure that any given player's journey is as smooth and rewarding as possible, regardless of what sort of build they decide to pursue. Despite this dedication to player friendliness though, Elden Ring does not coddle the player -- the famous From difficulty is absolutely still present.

In many ways, it is the culmination of many of the different design ideas From has experimented with going all the way back to King's Field, and is a journey that I can't recommend highly enough.

Easily the strongest opener for an arc since Zero. Just about everything in it feels wonderful, from the new combat system and cast, to the various regions of Calvard itself. Speaking of Calvard, it is as much a character as Erebonia and Crossbell were in their respective storylines, and its blend of French, Chinese, and Middle-Eastern influences makes it a joy to explore alongside Van and his various employees.

The writing in general is a considerable step up in quality compared to previous arcs, with much improved pacing and real stakes in a way that is quite refreshing. Interactions among the main cast are extremely well done, and made me enjoy my time with them enormously. The villains are sadly a little under-cooked when it comes to character development, but not to a degree that it detracts from the fantastic overall quality of the experience.

While the general trails disclaimer of "If you start here you're going to feel really lost for a bit" definitely applies, the game does its best to accommodate new players and help them catch up to speed on Zemurian lore organically.

Don the Nightmare and TAKE THE GRENDEL; you'll have a blast doing it.

Easily one of the best platformers I've played in recent memory; it's extremely liberating once you start to really get a feel for the movement mechanics. Not a long or particularly deep game, but it nails its core mechanics so darn well that it's impossible not to love it for what it is.

It's also dirt cheap! Just play it already.

Easily one of the best remakes in recent years, eclipsed only by RE2 and Star Ocean 2.

While it may take itself a little more seriously (although not too seriously) compared to the original, it maintains RE4's wonderful mix of horror, action, and far-too-satisfying inventory Tetris.

The Separate Ways DLC is also excellent and far more substantial than its price would indicate.

Really great little game that merges the feeling of King's Field and other older From Software games with some modern sensibilities and a few Castlevania influences, then ties it all together in a wonderful synthwave vibe. The emphasis is squarely on exploration, and despite the occasional spooky bits, the overall atmosphere is surprisingly relaxed.

Speaking of synthwave vibes, the soundtrack is fantastic, delightfully setting the mood for each area as it lulls you into a smooth exploring groove.

Aside from the fact that it isn't actually finished, there isn't a lot to dislike here -- the game's pacing initially feels slow, but increases dramatically as you gain new tools and your raw stats improve. Difficulty is also something that starts off not particularly high and is totally eradicated by the time you reach the end of early access content, so if you're looking for a From Soft-level challenge, you won't be finding it here.

Overall, I had a wonderful time with Lunacid. It took me ~15 hours to clear all the current content at a fairly slow pace, and I enjoyed almost every second of it. I can't wait to return when additional content is added.

As advertised, it is indeed "Thief With Guns". If you like immersive sims, it's very much a game in the Looking Glass style.

There's not a ton of content in the first early access release, but what's there is fun and engaging. Looking forward to more.

Do you like Vanillaware games? Don't think, BUY -- especially on sale. I feel like I stole something getting this game for $0.79.

The Vagrant is clearly inspired by Vanillaware's beatemups, Odin Sphere and Muramasa in particular with a little Dragon's Crown thrown in for good measure. It's a fantastic little game with great art, solid music, and very satisfying gameplay. If there's something negative to say about it, it would probably be that it's a little on the easy side and the camera is a bit more zoomed in than is entirely comfortable. Fortunately, higher difficulties alleviate the first issue, so...

I'll update this review when I finish the game, but so far it's been an absolute joy.

Nightmare of Decay is delightfully charming. A short but sweet love letter to 32bit horror.

An adorable homage to PS1-era horror games with plenty of references to other greats in the genre and the occasional outside gag or reference. It's well balanced, thoughtfully designed, and has plenty of quality of life concessions compared to the games it takes inspiration from.

While quite short, the game is still an absolute steal for $5. Buy it!

Remarkably fun and addictive, especially if you're a Castlevania fan and enjoy all the references.

It's not an overly complex game, but given the price and nostalgia on tap, how could you say no?

Do you like boobs? Do you like boobs enough to ignore terrible game design, atrocious interface design, and truly predatory F2P pricing?

If you answered yes to both of these questions, League of Maidens may be for you. But it probably still isn't. Don't let the apparent high production values fool you into thinking that this is more than a mobile game dressed up to look pretty, because that is precisely what it is.

There are plenty of actually good lewd games on steam. This is not one of them.
