Game constantly crashed for me. I couldn't get through it. My PC is fairly decent 8 core, 16 gb ram, 1070ti so I don't know what it was. As it stands, I cannot recommend the game.

Early Access Review
This is for all the people that have not had the displeasure of buying the game and for those that are leaving positive reviews.

For those that do not know, Atlas is currently unplayable. There are constant connection issues for anyone that isn't a content creator. Now, rough launches happen and can be slightly remedied with completely transparent information and helpful community team. However, this is not the case. As of writing this, it has been two hours since any communication when the servers imploded at 4 PM EST when the game became publicly available. Joining their incredibly toxic cesspool of a discord server does not help either.

That could almost be forgivable if not the not one, not two, not even three, four delays with one of them having communication 30 minutes after the game was supposed to release only to now go from having to sit and watch streamers play while getting excited to having to sit and watch streamers play without any ETA on when the game will be playable. The fact the people are actually excusing this is telling of just how submissive we have become to these companies that can literally do ANYTHING and people will still eat it up.

The game is UNPLAYABLE. Being an EA game does not mean that you can release a broken mess out after four delays. It does not mean that customers that spend 30 dollars become your own personal beta and stress test. It means that you have the opportunity to help the developers and support the development of a game.

Sea of Thieves lacks content, Atlas lacks the ability to play. Keeping my fingers crossed for Skull and Bones. Maybe one day we will get a polished, enjoyable, multiplayer pirate game. To those that have not bought it, avoid. I will update upon the game becoming playable to see if the gameplay is as bad as the servers.

Edit: As of 11:35 PM EST - The servers are working for some people but there's still only 150 out of the supposed 40k that can be in server at a time. Avoid still.

Edit: As of 9:33 AM EST - Now some people can get on the servers but it's so incredibly laggy that it's still unplayable. The game is also poorly optimized and the ARK DLC reviews are not wrong. Animals look dead like their ARK counerparts. It's silly at this point.

Edit: As of 4:21 PM EST - The PvE server for NA works but not the PvP nor do any freeports work. With an i5/1060/16 gb, I get about 30-50 FPS with medium/high settings. AI are still laggy and there is slightly better communication. Still would avoid.

I am genuinely writing this review to warn people of a game with horrible business practice and design. It's not the PVP and survival aspects that are bad about this game.

It's the bugs.

When this game was still in early access and priced more reasonable, they were forgiveable. To charge 60 USD for a game in such a buggy and broken state of teleporting, getting stuck in random locations, weapons showing up on the dino but not counting as being hit, and the list going on and on of bugs and glitches.

This game is severely overpriced, the company has made poor business decisions in the past, and it's unacceptable in its current state to be a fully released game.

Avoid.
