Early Access Review
POE 1, but slightly slower and more deliberate. It does feel like the core POE experience but without quite so much of the bling loot explosions you get there. It is only day 2 of early access however!

Genuinely enjoying the experience the game runs very smoothly, graphics are amazing, the settings are true ARPG hellscapes and beauty all rolled into one. Bosses are more dark souls now, lots of rolling around to avoid aoe attacks and such. I am a fan of the wsad movement upgrade and I think the new gem levelling system works well.

The one and only gripe I have is the trials. For the love of all that is holy why did you pick the Sanctum mechanic!! :<

That one thing however, doesn't detract at all from a game that I am going to be spending alot of my free time in!

Adult Minecraft with Zombies, it's great fun, can be as challenging or as easy as you want to tailor it to and has an amazing online community of helpful friendly people. The devs are very active and integrated into the community too which has been great to see over it's development. Really great game for unwinding of an evening!

Game works smoothly and looks pretty good although the lighting is very dark indoors. The main issue is that although the concept of the story is interesting, the dialogue really feels lazy. It also just feels incredibly hollow gameplay wise. the AI is basic, the gunfights arn't very interesting and the level design is just corridor based.

I think I can see what the Devs were trying to do, I appreciated the different elements like driving and flying but again they just didn't feel very well realised.

I can't positively recommend the game, which is a shame because I like the plot idea and the general style of it. But the mechanics within need more balance and variety within them to make it an interesting game to play.

Fun survival sandbox for LOTR fans. Pretty basic stuff, nothing hugely taxing, dying? find statues, upgrade gear. pretty much the entire loop of the game. The setting makes it worth while!

Early Access Review
Absolute gem of a game! It has the aesthetic feel of Half Life with the crafting and "event" setup of 7 Days 2 Die. The level design of feels like it was made by Fromsoftware, the skills system is like playing Oblivion and the character creation feels like project zomboid. There's plenty of humour injected into the game through the NPCs and passive lore found on computer terminals around the levels. The enemy are fairly basic AI wise, however it just takes me back to those early days of FPS, there feels like a huge amount of depth to this game and it's been a long time since I played something that genuinely caught me off guard like this has.

The game feels finished and until coming to write this review I forgot it was in early access all together.

Well worth your time and money in my humble opinion.

This is the Bethesda RPG I've been waiting for. It's everything good about fallout and so much more. Complete with the magic Bethesda remedy of Jankiness and Quirks that never really break the game. Like turning people into chandaliers by shooting their jetpacks. Storing infinate junk in a med container in a home toilet but only allowing you to store a single spacesuit in an outpost container. Companions pulling an entire starbase when you're trying to be sneaky. Yes yes my friends, it has it all!

Honestly though I do think they pulled it out of the bag. Ultimately, if you enjoy Fallout 3 and beyond or you like the idea of Elderscrolls in space. You will enjoy it.

(if you didn't like those titles you're probably going to hate it.)

Incredibly deep dungeon crawler with masses of exploration available through maps, builds and gear. Takes a bit of patience at the start when getting to grips with the economy and over-abundance of loot to whittle through but if you stick it out, it is going to keep you entertained for many many hours. The community is very active and for the most part helpful.

My only "con" is that as a free base game you do not get nearly enough storage space to be productive. HOWEVER I would recommend that you see this game as a try before you buy rather than totally free and other than storage, nothing in the shop is P2W. It's all cosmetic. So as far as micro-transactions go I fully support their model. After all they need money to continue developing and this leaves it up to you how much you wish to contribute. The storage is not too expensive and to kit yourself out with a full end game storage setup you're only looking at the price of a game anyway.

A lovely little rougelike. The graphical style and narrative compliment each other very well throwing you into a tongue in cheek plot of escape.

You are "rehydrated" to help the plight of your detention ship and it's AI who is rather amusing. Unknown to the characters you play, their predecessors litter your wake while handing down their accumulated upgrades which help you the player progress further each time.

Randomly generated ships although rooms are pretty cut and paste are made interesting by the randomly generated enemies and loot. Other space fairing events can occur too, avoid those space whales......

It's a very satisfying game overall and personally, I think worth the price tag.

Well having jumped back into the game after buying it at launch I can honestly say it's been developed into something very close to what was promised. There is a ton of content now with amazing planets and flora/fauna to discover, a huge array of ships and upgrades to work your way through and the addition of base building and more in depth survival mechanics have turned this from a flop into the masterpiece I had been hoping for.

Hello Games really pulled through and I thank them for not just quitting when the road got rocky.

If you enjoy space exploration games, although this will not be the most "realistic" you will find. It is most certainly worth the price now and you will not be disappointed with the content. It's honestly up there with Elite Dangerous in terms of what you can do within the game. Just being able to warp into a system and land on literally all planets within it, leaves you boggling at just how vast and impressive the game engine is. granted, there are similarities with planets and wildlife still. But it's still very impressive and much MUCH improved from the day 1 Alpha demo that cost me 40 quid back in the day!

Word of warning, Survival and Permadeath modes are not for the faint of heart! Ouchie.
