Once again Owlcat releases a completely stellar CRPG. I was a huge fan of Kingmaker and this game dials the epicness to 11. For fans of oldschool RPGs, it doesn't get any better than this.

How do you even review this game? It's a mental deep thought provoking game, play it!

A fantastic hybrid between 4x gameplay and RTS. The game feels just right on all fronts, no tedium, no endless games that never go anywhere, just the right amount of action in every match. A true labour of love with plenty of single and multiplayer content through various game modes.

Very true to the roots genuine Age of Empires game with classic RTS gameplay. A rarity in todays gaming landscape, if you're even moderately into RTS games you need to play this.

Another one of the card battlers that appeared since Slay the Spire's big success.

This one is focused more on a narrative campaign. The design is great, with that classic "Klei" art direction. Gameplay is interesting enough for a few runs but I won't be playing this one nearly as much as Slay the Spire.

Solasta is a fun lighthearted D&D game but it does require some amount of jank tolerance to enjoy.

The combat and ui are great. This is a fantastic implementation of turn based D&D, which I prefer by quite a bit over the combat in larian's games (Has to be mentioned, they are the giant in turn based crpgs right now.). The campaign itself is fairly basic and linear, the voice acting is rather barebones and the animations act a bit off at times, this is where the lower budget shows itself.

All in all I had a good time, get it if you are a fan of the genre.

Outward is a charming game with an endearing premise. You're a commoner rather than a hero, you have to try hard to survive and engage everything intelligently and prepare a lot. Yet I cannot recommend this game because it's hampered by a massive lack of polish in pretty much all areas (models, music, level design, animations, voice, story, dialogue....). Maybe I'm spoiled but in the current gaming landscape it just really falls very flat. (Also the weird respawning of enemies you just killed behind your back in later areas made me rage really hard)

After having played most of the recent CRPG games (Pillars of Eternity 1&2, Divinity Original Sin 1&2) I can say that this game is my favourite of them all by far.

Pathfinder Kingmaker is a real classic CRPG. This means it will try to kill and surprise you at every turn, it's absolutely ruthless, character building is very hard, you'll have to reload a ton, and I absolutely love it. I'm a bit older by games standards and I grew up playing the classics like BG, Icewind Dale, Arcanum, ... and Kingmaker echoes these in the best way. This does mean that if you're the kind of player looking to go through the story and not spend too much time on difficult encounters and finetuning your builds (it has respecs!) it might not be the game for you as it really doesn't shy away from kicking you in the teeth.

One last thing, a common complaint I see is people ranting about the time limits in this game. These really are mostly flavour, it's almost impossible to run out of time, I had weeks/months to spare every single time and I've explored everything extensively.

Gameplay seems ok.

But unfortunately the performance on this game is uncomprehensively bad for me. The graphics don't look great, just alright, yet I get massive FPS drops and it's just unplayable despite me being able to run similar games just fine. Hell I can run Cyberpunk at 30 FPS and it's a lot more playable than this.

Nioh combines diablo style gameplay with a soulslike experience. A confusing formula that is very often at odds with itself, while the dark souls formula mostly gears itself towards a high yet fair difficulty, Nioh often won't feel fair due to the itemization. Simply if you are undergeared you will be onehit all the time and if you are overgeared bosses blow up before they get a chance to do anything, this is further amplified by the "sloth" spell which pretty much breaks the base game.

Nioh has a lot of complexity in combat and character building, often feeling like every little menu item will uncover some sort of skill tree where you can slot points. Combat has many different layers, strong attack/fast attack, 3 stances, many different skills and living item modes and so on. Often this all felt like simply too much for me.

All in all I had a good time playing Nioh but it has flaws and definitely had me scratching my head in different ways, both in confusion and in why encounters were so easy/hard. I'd still recommend it, just don't expect Dark Souls.
