Balancing is terrible in this game. Cant tell what the stats of perks are before you pick them. Just wait for it to be finished.

Same great story, tweaked gameplay. While there are a few changes i'm not a fan of, i cant argue that its a way more balanced game now. Also all the changes make it feel like a slightly different game. Overall a better experience.

A solid game made even better by the fact that they are skill updating and balancing it. I beat it before and it feels fresh now because of the updates, so ill be playing through again.

Great Soundtrack, Great Story, Satisfying Game Loop, Great Visual Style. A nice chill game to play.

Levels werent as interesting as the first game but its a faithful sequel with a decent story.

Another Final Fantasy game thats been released multiple times. This is not the best version of this game imo. Even if it was the best version, this is the worst game of all the final fantasy main line games.

Also of note, there a bug/feature where enemies apply status effects 100% of the time if their attack hits at all, even if it does no damage. When enemies are just envenoming you its an annoyance. Later on though enemies stun/sleep/petrify/confuse/mini or just straight up kill you. I had 99% evasion which should be the way to counter this but you can only evade 4 attacks and enemies are attacking up to 12 times.

On the plus side this also works in your favor when the sleep sword and curse (ancient) sword cant be resisted by enemies, so you can sleep lock every boss including the final boss.
Also they removed stat decreases so you can have hybrid mages and physical attackers. Make sure you look into magic penalties based on equipped gear though. Its not explained in the game and has a huge impact on viability of magic.

While not a bad port overall, I really liked the bonus dungeons from the GBA/PSP port of FF1, and this version is missing them. Without those, this game is kind of mediocre for the price. Also as others have said the font is terrible.

The weird thing is when i first got this game on release i had zero issues while others seemed to be having a lot of issues. Now that im close to beating the game and several patches came out, im disconnecting or crashing to desktop nonstop. Please fix your game. Its bad enough its always online even if you are playing single player. If would have known that initially i wouldnt have bought it.
Not to mention the devs seem to have no idea what they are doing, its a complete clown fiesta.

Overall I really liked the game.
A game of extremes. When things are bad in this game they are very bad. Mostly bugs. But the things that it got right are amazing so i can overlook the bad parts.
The best thing about this game, The story and the characters. Some of the plot themes really make you think. And not just the main plot either. There are some great side quests.
Lastly, Misty is bae.
