The gameplay is literally so good and I adore it. The story comes across the same way forced training at a corporate job does, and I 100% do not think that's intentional. As in extremely boring and I only pretend to pay attention to it after a certain amount of time. There is no way to interact with it and it's so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ unengaging. It's neither darkly funny nor genuinely thought provoking. There's no interaction, the characters just talk at you. Just let me cut, I don't want a half baked story that doesn't actually either let me participate meaningfully until the very end or say anything meaningful lol.

Again gameplay is great, but I wish you could skip this story.

I fell off the game here and there, but I've come back to it and I absolutely adore it.
Here's the main thing you need to understand going into this game: it isn't red faction. The game is paradoxically not really about mass destruction. You're not gonna have a building collapsing because you destroyed most of it.

This is a puzzle speedrunning game where the solution to the puzzle is a hammer and pipe bomb. Most missions are about getting all the objectives done within 60 seconds, with some optional objectives, and some that don't start the timer.

A good example is an early mission. All you have to do is steal 2 cars, pretty simple. But one of them is on a big ass boat. You can position the boat so it's easy to get the car off after you steal the other one, so that's easy. But wait, there's 2 option objectives! They require you setting up a boat and a car in key places and speeding across the map so you can quickly get those two objectives done and then steal the car. I got all of them done with 1 second remaining. This is a relatively common kind of situation in the game, and it's fantastic.

Honestly a perfect example of how games don't need to be 40 hours long to be an amazing experience.

Try it out on the browser on dashnet, it's compatible with those saves. You'll probably think it's dumb at first, same as me. 7 years later I'm still clicking, just on a different platform. No predatory monetization either, just cookies. There's a fun little farming system, stocks, wizard spells, and a little pantheon system that functions as simple perks. There's a decent amount of strategy to keep you engaged for years and honestly it's worth it tbh.

So back when I was a kid and generally wasn't allowed to play online, I would spend hours having fun in Unreal Tournament and Jedi Knight II's custom multiplayer games filling both teams with AI. It was surprisingly a blast and it's quite chill since it doesn't matter whatsoever if you're good or bad, just mess around. Ravenfield is what you get if you made that gamemode a fully fledged game with mod support. If that sounds appealing or you used to do that as well back in the day, definitely give this game a try.

One of the best games I've ever played. Like Groundhog Day mixed with Majora's mask, Eldrich horror, and space.

The story of a baker, also demons

Feels like absolute ♥♥♥♥ to play. They could've made it great by making something like PVE with strong special infected. As it is playing survivor feels like playing a walking simulator and playing a zombie feels like playing a spectator simulator. You legit feel like a normal average zombie from Left 4 Dead, which is not exactly a fun experience, and all in all the whole thing is horribly paced
