Ok so here we go.
This game slaps, probably a 9/10 in pure mechanics if we're being honest. it knows what it is and it does aspects of that very well. I'm gonna list out so pros and cons below.

Pros:
good control scheme.
good controller and keyboard support with multiple variations of keyboard.
very low latency, no rubberbanding.
fun classes.
simplistic but high skill ceiling gameplay.
just a good time especially with friends.

Cons:
paywall classes
class balance
limited replayability

So as you can see above the pros are strong but the Cons are actually quite a big deal and they impact this game more than you might think. each match in this game last about 3-7 minutes and replayability is a huge factor. you can pretty easily knock out 10 matches in an hour if the Queue times are low.
the area this starts to become an issue with is class balance and the pay wall.
they are fairly generous with initial currency but unlocking 3+ classes will require about 20 hours and it slows from there.
this causes an issue where balance is concerned. certain characters are just better than others overall. since your characters can "die" and the game is simple enough in core concept a "bruiser character who can bully other people actually damages the concept a bit. if they walk up and kill a character in a few seconds it suddenly becomes a 3v2 for about 10 seconds and if they start bullying another character while the third is dead it basically becomes a 3v1.

the worst part about this is it feels bad, and not in the just getting outplayed way, but when you can't avoid the other character because its impossible and you can't fight back because they are stronger and then they kill you and score a goal by pushing you both into the goal area it feels broken.

outside of this the actual gameplay is fun. the team work is lovely and playing with friends is a blast but if you play against a team with even a single player who is combat focused and playing X it just ruins the game basically. you can have people on both teams play X I guess but then you have the issue of being forced to have a single person in every single game or being put at a disadvantage.
it's really a shame. I think removing the ability to kill players or changing how the combat works would go a long way into saving this game.

Since this game has a very high skill ceiling as most technical shooters do, my review will be focused on character balancing.
Right now there is a pretty massive gap in character value. what i mean by this is that melee characters are very strong and stuns are currently game breaking. Barbatos is very strong, he is in every match and not having him on your team is a definitive negative considering he is only 1 of 2 Gundam with stun moves.

Stun moves in this game last a min of 2 seconds and up to 4 seconds with Marasai who has 2 skills that stun and they stack for 1v1 dominance. this game has a fairly low Time to kill and 4 seconds is a guaranteed death sentence. 2 is also typically a death sentence.
my only issue with this is Marasai has to be bought for about $10 so if he's on a team, it's an advantage.

outside of stuns we have Zaku II Melee loadout. this also has to be bought for $10 and has one of the strongest move sets in the game. between his defense move that completely negates damage and charges his rage meter, when his rage meter fill it unleashes another ability that makes him passively stronger and makes him Ranged, and his G-maneuver which does a ton of damage and he has major control over its mobility, makes him a force to be reckoned with.

these need major balancing especially since they need to be bought to even test them out which that's another gripe I have. You CANNOT play any LOCKED units until you've bought them. there is a training area for practice but you cant even test out the locked units to see if you like them before buying. what a terrible design idea. even if i wanted to buy one I wouldn't because I cant practice using them to see how they feel.

Overall I cannot recommend it in its current state. I want to like this game and most likely ill continue playing it every now and then to see how it continues forward. it's a fun concept with poorly executed balancing, unfavorable pay to play unit structure with no testing available, and no feasible way to unlock units without paying.
Balancing is big for a game with a low TTK like this and while you can manage to enjoy the game, it does make it harder with the noticeable power gap between certain units.

Edit: adjusted grammar and changed some information to more accurately represent the Unit buying issues

Early Access Review
I'll try and make this review straight to the point and cover the most important Aspects

1. this is a co-op game. If you play solo you will need to adjust the settings to stand against the later V-bosses as their health pools and damage done are quite high and increase dramatically
2. This game is pretty fun in PVE but I feel will shine long term with the PVP aspect
3. this grind is long but the mechanics are pretty well designed and enemies while straight forward have some interesting Gimmicks as you go
4. I haven't played PVP yet but i do feel like the raid windows on official servers are a good idea as it feels like you need a safety window to farm a bit easier

Overall I've enjoyed my time in the game so far. I have played PVE solo and then joined a clan with 2 randoms I met on the server at this moment so my experience is based off of that

good graphics, decent story (although i couldn't get into it very easily) and great combat. pve is pretty fun and definitely where this game shines with its strikes, raids, and overall massive amount of content to complete. i personally prefer pvp and this game does a good job but i do have a few complaints, which may actually be positive for other people, like how the guns that are good for pvp and pve generally differ. certain guns have high damage and slower shooting speeds while others are the opposite and while generally higher tier guns are better in general that is not always the case. faster guns that deal solid damage usually work best for pvp and this makes for a weird dynamic where your favorite gun to use may excel in pve but be just straight garbage in pvp due to a slow rate of fire and how fast and hard other players hit you. and the opposite is true for pvp where your favorite pvp gun may work really well but fall short in pve due to low clip sizes, faster firing, and overall lower ammo count. its not super hard to get used to switching guns depending on the game mode but id say its a negative.

either way the game is fun and i'd definitely recommend it to others if they don't mind grinding up a ton of weapons so they can have a loadout for every game mode.

I have played for a few hours now and I love it. Just download it and whatever you do never give up. you will be rewarded with thousands of hours of sitting in lobbies and being cussed out by russians

Edit* Yeah so you'll probably get cussed out by everyone equally, although it does seem to have calmed down a bit in recent years.
