I'm really torn on this one. It's got good gameplay, good graphics, great music, but I feel like it doesn't quite hold up to the previous version.

On the plus side, it's a bit graphically nicer, and having multiple independent ghost trains makes it feel a lot more like classic Pac-Man, instead of having one huge train that mindlessly follows you. However, I feel like it lacks a lot of the depth the first game had. The entire maze changes at once now, instead of alternating between halves. This means there's only ever one correct way through the maze, and every maze starts by going left, and ends back at the center. Staying on the dot path automatically aggros every ghost for you, instead of making you work out which is shortest path that runs by all the ghosts and still gets every dot.

It's hard to fault this game for anything besides just not being as good as its predecessor. I'd still recommend it if you're bored of the first game, or it it's currently cheaper, or even free to keep like it was at the time of this review.

While I didn't crash in my ~15 minutes of play, I still can't reccomend this as the game utterly disregards which modes you've selected to play online. Additionally, upcoming garbage puyo/tetriminoes don't always display properly, leaving you in the dark about whether or not it was canceled.

Also Denuvo.

Edit: Apparently online actually works now. I got a refund after that disgraceful launch, so I wouldn't know personally.

Overpriced pay-to-win DLC, lies from the developers, broken promises...

Don't even bother picking this up on a free weekend. It's not worth it.

Everything about this game is amazing and I can't even tell you why but if the words "Bullet-hell-RPG" sound remotely interesting to you, you need to pick this up.

At first it seems like this is just going to be a generic flash shooter game, but then you're riding on the back of a giant wolf, shooting laser guns at flying tentacle robots. Yeah, it's pretty awesome.

You know that classic video game? No, not that one, the other one. The one with the thing that you like. Shovel Knight has the thing.

I'm actually sorry I bought this. It's one of the worst ports I've ever played. The resolution options do NOTHING, aside from changing the size of the borders. The game size is completely locked. I couldn't even get it into fullscreen, the game ignored any changes I made in the configuration.

A procedurally-generated platformer programmed with the sole purpose to kill you. You die after the shopkeeper shoots you because a frog exploded in his shop on the other side of the level after it got hit by a trap, and now he blames you. You die because you whpped a spider too close to an explosive crate, and some of the spiders blood hit the crate, setting it off. You die because you touched a yeti, and even though you built up 20+ health, he threw you against a wall where you bounce right back into his arms, trapping you in an endless loop of furry death. You die because the NPC you hired to help you has an obession with whipping every pot in the level, and hits you by mistake, sending you off a ledge and into a spike pit. You die because you fell too far, landed on an altar, accidentally sacrificing yourself to a Hindu goddess. I don't know if I'd say you get "better" at this game over time, you mostly just learn how to deal with things after they kill you ten times.

If you're looking for a game with a solid storyline, realistic gameplay, strategic cover, regenerating health, 6 different assualt rifles, 4 pistols, and a handful of submachine guns, all with fancy scopes and stuff that you don't need, then you're in the wrong place. Play Serious Sam, and take a trip back to the golden age of shooters, where violence is fun again. Get rewarded for exploring the map, not killed for "going AWOL". Find new guns earlier, and extra health and armor. How about a cannon that splats any enemy it shoots, or a 4-barreled laser gun? A double shotgun that does as much damage as a rocket launcher? Fight giant scorpions with chainguns, and 100-foot lava golems. And did I mention the headless kamikazes? This game is a SERIOUSLY fun time.
