The game in it's current state is quite simply - unplayable. I don't recommend anyone buying right now, even if it would be a special deal. For all the casual players and the ones that don't want to sweat too much - the automatic gears have been completely messed up, which causes you to spin out of every acceleration zone and you are loosing up a second or even more per lap. The car simply won't change from 7th to 8th gear. The AI will blast past you on the straight like racing a jet plane against a propellor plane. Absolutely mad. Bugs everywhere. Disqualifications, deleted laps, simulated laps that are 20 seconds faster than you. It's really a shame considering this rant is coming from someone like me who had always defended codemasters in the past, but this game is seriously lawsuit worthy. Comparable to the early days from cyperbunk. Keep in mind I've spent 60 Euros on this mess! 60 Euros is a lot for everyone, but imagine someone younger spending all his pocket money on this game, just to utterly disappointed and be confronted by such a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Shame on Codemasters and EA. I won't even mention EA in this rant, because everybody knows that EA is one of the worst companies to ever hit the videogame market.
I will update this if the future patches change anything, until then seriously don't buy this game!

After various patches, bug fixes and updates the game is now somehow playable. Still not perfect, but compared to the state when I wrote my review it's a million times better. SO I kinda recommend playing the game now, but there will still be bugs.

I haven't touched the game since December last year. Please don't buy it. F1 2020 and 21 are a million times better. The game was and always will be the worst F1 game only outshined in terms of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ by f1 2015. F1 22 got no anticheat, no grip and the handling is biblical.
