This 'One Dollar Game' could be the best Indie game that I ever played on Steam. And this has a simple reason:
The developer of this game is such a great person and a very "community-loved" person on Steam.

I played the game already two times with the developer himself and it was always a pleasure. While playing with him, he gifted you many skins, gave you many tips how to manage specific situations and has always a helping hand if you ask him anything about this game. Such a great developer! <3

And concerning the game itself, it's really a fun game to have even much more fun playing together with others to shoot down everything you see and to explore the great tunnel maps with secrets etc...

First of all, I have to say that the game has fascinated me from the very beginning. This also has a very specific reason, which somehow makes me happy. It's the pure atmosphere of the Diablo games. As a fan of the old Diablo games (parts 1 and 2) I can't get enough of it and it's really nice that this atmosphere has been integrated into this Rogue-like game.

A great job by the three developers. So excited to see what the future content will look like.

But so far I give the game a 10/10!

It's a funny but weird game - with easy Steam Achievements. You also get Steam items while ingame.

BUT ... it's really the last time for me to play an "achievement spamming game".

After I got Vanguard on Steam, I wanted to play it right away - especially because of the zombie mode. But unfortunately the game [or even Steam itself (*)] put a spoke in my wheel. I start the game and during the splash animations, where the developers can be seen, the game freezes and then crashes with an error message.

(*) BUT if I put Steam in offline mode (not friend list on Steam, but the Steam client in offline mode), I now get to the Activision Online Services, where on the one hand the shaders are loaded at the initial start. But the online services do not want to run; even after the shaders are completely loaded, nothing happens. So it must be a problem with the Steam migration of the game from Battle.net to Steam. Because I never had this problem in the Battle.net launcher. (There was once a Free Weekend there, where I could test it!) Here on Steam, unfortunately, it does.

And since the problem can not be solved, I'm probably forced to refund the game - very sad.

Nachdem ich mir Vanguard auf Steam geholt habe, wollte ich es natürlich gleich spielen - vor allem wegen dem Zombie-Modus. Aber leider macht mir das Spiel [bzw. sogar Steam selbst (*)] ein Strich durch die Rechnung. Ich starte das Spiel und bei den Splash-Animationen, wo die Entwickler zu sehen sind, friert das Spiel bei mir erst ein und dann stürzt es mit einer Fehlermeldung ab.

(*) ABER wenn ich Steam im Offline-Modus versetze (nicht Freundschaftsliste auf Steam, sondern den Steam-Client im Offline-Modus), komme ich immerhin nun bis zum den Activision Online Services, wo zum einen ja beim Erststart die Shader geladen werden. Aber die Online Services wollen nicht laufen; auch nachdem die Shader vollständig geladen wurden, passiert weiter nichts. Also es muss wohl ein Problem mit der Steam-Migration des Spiels von Battle.net zu Steam sein. Denn im Battle.net-Launcher habe ich das Problem damals nie gehabt. (Es gab mal ein Free Weekend dort, wo ich das testen konnte!) Hier bei Steam leider schon.

Und da sich das Problem wohl nicht lösen lässt, bin ich wohl oder über dazu gezwungen, dass Spiel zurück erstatten zu lassen - sehr schade.

Nach zwei Stunden Spielzeit muss ich ernüchternd sagen, dass Redfall zu diesem Zeitpunkt keinesfalls annähernd seine 70 Euro wert sind. Die Grafik sieht ziemlich schwammig aus wie zu den 2000er-Anfangszeiten, was in dieser Zeit ok war, aber nicht in 2023. Die Spielewelt wirkt viel zu still und trostlos - kaum Gegner. Und bezüglich der Gegner kann man sagen, dass sie dümmer sind wie sonst irgendwas. Die deutsche Syncho ist übrigens auch sehr schlecht anzuhören.

Es gibt aber auch gute Punkte zu Redfall zu sagen, wie etwa das Loresystem, um mehr über Redfall zu erfahren, wenn man bei den Leichen oder sonst wo Notizen findet, die dich unterhalten oder aufklären. Das Mapdesign gefällt mir auch recht gut. Mehr gutes kann ich leider nicht finden.

Ich möchte das Spiel dennoch für die Zukunft nicht aufgeben. Wenn es erstmal viele Patches gibt und irgendwann einen gutes Angebot auf Steam kommt, werde ich auf das Spiel zurückkommen und gegebenfalls meine Review (zum positiven) ändern.

Allen anderen wünsche viel Spaß mit Redfall.

One of the biggest "fakes" I saw on Steam. Instantly refunded! Don't buy it!

So far I am absolutely fascinated by the game and its story! I am just wondering about the graphic itself that looks kinda "old" sometimes. But on the otherside I am here for exploring the story and that's it! Amazing work devs - again after the moon adventure in "Deliver Us The Moon"! 🟠❤️
