Now that 1.0 is out and I have 70 hours logged into it, I guess I can leave a review. I played a LOT in the early access. Like. . . 5 years worth. There's a lot of new things but overall its the same addicting first person factory building game that tricks you into "just one more thing before bed" and all of a sudden its 2am and you haven't eaten all day. I think the graphics are phenomenal as always, and the ADA (the Voice-Telling-You-What-To-Do) commentary is a great improvement. I'm a paver by trade in this game and found myself building a lot more in the last 70 hours than I would normally do. Plus the tetris-like minigame, the added tiers, and the intriguing story line make this a win.

But. 1.0 is buggy in multiplayer. My poor friends crash nearly every hour, and it takes me an incredibly long time to join the server in comparison to my friends. Meaning, 20-50 seconds compared to their 3-5. This wouldn't be too bad if there was some indication that it was attempting to join me after I press the button. . . and press it again, and again, and again. Once you're in, it's easy to get lost and the distinct "learn from your own mistakes" design can be frustrating at times (LOOKING AT YOU, BLOCK VS PATH SIGNALS, and PIPES!!!!) but you feel really smart when you do teach yourself how to do something.

Overall, I enjoy base building co-op games, and Satisfactory is quite pleasant. I shudder to think how many hours I have spent at work for FICSIT in the Early Access, but overall 10/10 would be more efficient again.

I played this in the open beta, and it looks like the dev team was hard at work between then and release. It's a survival crafting game, with a small horror aspect (jumpscare more than anything. If you're a weeny like me, you will be fine, just the occasional spookle when you turn a corner and a baddie is there.) and a unique skill mechanic to make your time a bit more tailored.

If you like exploring games with base building, you may just like this game. As of where I am in the game currently, the "base" shell is already built, but you can hole yourself in a secured area to survive the spoopy night. I'm looking forward to learning more recipes to make other areas more usable. . . This "one bedroom apartment" isn't meant for two people. ;)

Initial thoughts on Saleblazers
1: Def need more than one person.
2: ill probably rebind the keys bc I keep accidentally killing good guys
3: I keep accidentally killing good guys because it's hard to tell them from the bads.
4: my jaw has dropped three times already by the time I got to the title card.
5: overall a good and unique mechanic of a game. Kinda like that cute animal shopkeeper game I was hooked on for a bit, but much harder lol
Overall rating: solid 8/10

Since I hit 666 hours soon, I figured I should maybe review this game. It started out super glitchy, hard to play, hard to survive, and hard to put down. Not much has changed, though I seem to die a little less. The amount of fun I have had in this survival-crafting adventure is immense.

Sure, sometimes things glitch. Sure, sometimes a bear sneaks up to you and rips your face off. But that's half the fun of it, in my opinion.

I like playing this with friends, though I can easily sink hours into it solo. Even though the general gist of each mission is the same--drop in, build shelter, do mission, go home--I find that even after the mission is done I spend a lot of time in the missions. As such, I'm 600 hours in, and haven't even finished the first map's quest tree. There is THAT much content, if you choose to not speed run each mission.

I do miss the early alpha days when the timers were IRL time. It made it something that kept Icarus in your thoughts. I would love to see the ability to choose which time continuum we'd like to use, whether in game or meatspace hours.

Get this game if you like the process of starting a world from scratch. Get this game if you like building and improving on what you know. Get this game to just chill and build (but do that in the open world maps).

Super short, but jam packed with brain twisting, spine tingling fun. Great game to play with someone you are great at communicating with, but probably super entertaining to play with someone you ARENT good at communicating with. I would love to see more criminals in the future, because this was an absolutely grand game. Like KTANE but on a Carmen SanDiego kick. I look forward to flipping the roles and playing through it all over again!

Updated with the 0.5 Update:
Pros:
LOTS of quality of life updates, whew! Save time DRAMATICALLY improved.
The Chimera pen summary/interactions is much easier than fighting with overlapping Chimera in the pen to play with them. And has been greatly simplified for the better.
Pretty much all of the Pros from before.

Cons:
I do miss my warp stone in my farm
WAY TOO MANY TREES and not enough planting room on farm *May be editable later, just haven't gotten that far yet*
Pretty much all the previous Cons still exist, minus the save times.
This run through as Sun I'm having a REALLY hard time surviving.
New Town layout is incredibly linear whereas the other one you could take a few shortcuts. But it looks cute though!

Previous notes:
Overall, I love this game. It is a very relaxing and chill game. There could be some improvements on tutorials and understanding the basics, but the wiki helps with a lot of that. There should be a journal or something to push the story aspect, as I've played over 20 hours and all I've done is farming/mining/forest ravaging. I'll drop some pros/cons below.

Pros:
Nice take on a farming/gathering exploration.
Cute, witchy theme.
Wide variety of tasks to do/keep occupied.
New Fishing mechanics
Saving at any time is nice, even if I forget to do so a lot.
Lots of crafting ability
Each Chimera will give you a different boost, so mixing and matching is encouraged.
Chimera farms are excellent and cute.

Cons:
Not enough explanation on some features. (Creature statues you sink mana into then what?; how the heck does fishing work?; what is the skill tree and where is it?, Scarecrows only scare crows and you need birdhouses for the finches?)
Iron is VERY hard to come by
Combat healing is hard to switch between food/fighting.
VERY slow combat leveling. Been 20 hours and I can't go any deeper in the Sun forest than the first area because trolls one shot
Hard to tell the difference between gold and copper. Maybe switching gold to silver or copper to silver as the lower currency would help. It would also help alleviate the idea that you could print your own money with gold/copper bars, which is not a thing, but would logically make sense.
No way to sell stuff on your farm itself, have to lug everything to town.
Wheat is slow to grow, even with Nurture spells. (Thankfully Chimera food is only 20 copper at the store)
No story push.

This game is really relaxing. Zen mode gives you the same story as classic without the death. HONK and the fart boost were my favorite parts. Maybe some twitch integration where viewers could have bird friends named after them.
