If you want to spend about 11 hours like I did building and optimizing sludge to water and gas production for your different cultivation and power needs then go right on ahead for it. If you want to spend another 9 hours after that researching better power tech to realize you now need to farm a specific material to upgrade your existing power stations, and then another 4 to make it all look pretty again, then this is your game.

God help me for I have lost myself to this game and I will not willingly crawl out of the hole I have dug for myself.

An Update from my original rage review. The Game is in a state that I can say I will play willingly again. 25$ DLC is still the most ridiculous thing they could have ever attempted to push to the consumerbase. If you have friends to play this game with, buy it. If you don't, don't. Waiting for quality content going forward seems to still be a losing game until proven otherwise.

Do not trust CA to make good decisions. Do not trust them to learn from their mistakes, but don't let their stupidity keep you from having fun.

Let me set the record straight: I absolutely love Rust and I love the unspoken rule that where everything is toxic, nothing is toxic. I love this community that mic spams and says the worst slurs known to God's Earth to each other every other breath.

I cannot ever recommend this game simply because all of those things are true.
What is sincerely beautiful about the community is why I can't, in good conscience, say yes other people should play Rust.

Absolutely stellar soundtrack and character design. I've never played a turn-based strategy game that kept me captivated for hours on end like this one has. I've yet to complete it, but every time I've launched the game its been a struggle to turn it back off again.

Warhammer 40k enthusiasts and strategy game fans would adore this game.

Do you want to build an entire army of emotionless, fearless, fanatically devoted Naginata wielding monks from the Northern end of Feudal Japan? Do you want to put into battle no less than 8 regiments of archers that are dirt cheap but have about 250 men in them each? Do you like answering "You and what Army" with a charge of around a thousand screaming, red-armor clad psychopaths with bows, naginata and katanas out of the woods that ol' boss didn't quite see there?

Do you like the feeling of spending maybe a half an hour on a game to get yourself started, only to have passed 7 consecutive hours without blinking or getting up to pee?
Do you crave the feeling that playing a game could take centuries of your life if you could just finish that one ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ tech branch that you need to unlock fire arrows because you'll be damned if you lose one more trading route to that stupid boat spamming prick across the map?

Then look no further than Total War: SHOGUN 2! Now complete with the "Oh Jesus you could actually regress their technology?" and "AHAHAHA GATLING GUNS DO WHAT?" Expansions!

Game is wonderful, the content is amazing and replayability is nuts. Some frustrating runs here and there, otherwise excellent game with nearly limitless fun.

10/10 absolutely maddening but fair enough to make me want to play again.
