This is coming from someone who has participated in the pre-launch beta.

TLDR: The word I'd used to describe Warhaven is unpolished. It is a fantastic game and has a lot of potential, but me and my friends had some issues ranging from minor to major. But at the end of the day, it is quite a fun game that was all laughed at and had fun with, and would keep an eye on. It's a free to play, which is always a plus. and I suspect it will get better with time and updates.

Starting general and working to more specific balance things, the overall impression of the game is good. We put around four hours into it and had a blast. But the main thing that stood out to us was the small party size. Me and four of my friends got together and wanted to play, only to find the game, which has modes in the 12v12 and 6v6 sizes, caps their parties at three people per. I get the intention is to prevent people from stacking teams, but it does severely limit fun and the possibilities this game could have.

Balance things could also be much improved. The field buffs/perks from capturable locations could do to be nerfed. The dragon artillery namely. It is incredibly powerful and has a extremely short cooldown, making it a fighting focal point more often than the actual objective.

The Spike class also has some issues, namely incredibly slow attack speed, and low range. It is supposedly meant to be a 1v1 duelist class and have the longest attack of any class in the game, but I and my friends all find it under-ranged compared to most any class, and lacking severely in any of the melee brawls that often erupt.

The Smoke class (my main and favourite, with around 90% of my playtime in her) seems to also be underpowered. Her healing, at least at base (still unlocking the perks that increase healing), seems incredibly slow and unhelpful in combat, and she offers little combat utility with her primary attack doing ~20 dmg with others doing anywhere from ~120 to ~300 per hit. She attacks extremely slow, and her wind wall/block and wind shove are situational and have their perks, but seem ultimately mediocre at best.

Blade seems incredibly inconsistent with his abilities, according to my friends and from what I've seen. I can't say much as I haven't played him.

Warhammer is blatantly a 'left-click to win' class. You just walk in and spam your primary attack to kill everything in a circle around you. A very good class with great damage and good survivability. I'd say a little too good. Either needs a nerf, or a balancing of all the other classes to compete.

Guardian is a tank and designed to absorb damage, something he does excellently. I have no real issues with him beyond the fact that everyone plays him.

Hush is the assassin class. Dual blades from Conqueroer's Blade is anyone is familiar. A very balanced class all around I think, as all the skills seem very skill-dependent and not everyone can just win using her.

A lot of nitpicks and things that will just get ironed out over time, but it's a great game. I love the aesthetic and lore so far that we have, and it's really a unique game in a world of not so unique games.

7/10, would recommend.

Genuinely one of the best games I have played. Been a veteran of this game for a while and wholeheartedly endorse it. A very fun game where you actions actually mean things. 100% worth the price.

First and foremost, like with all live service games, especially MMORPGs with a heavy focus on PVP, there are several major imbalances and overpowered things that can make the game unfun. However, I can wholeheartedly endorse the game anyways.

In my over 200 hours as of writing this review, it has been a very bumpy road to get to where I am now, but I genuinely love the game and it's very underrated. My.Games is a controvertial company, and their practices may be a bit scummy at times, but the game is fun with friends and boasts a decent community.

8/10, would suggest again. Nerf Berserkers.

100% Yes. I just recently bought this game, last night at the time of writing this, and I am already in love. While the game possesses a moderate learning curve, it is a very fun play. I would compare this to a much more forgiving version of Escape From Tarkov set in a horror lovecraftian late 19th century. It is a blast, and the community is great. You can get help learning the game on their Discord, and there are plenty of guides. I would suggest doing some homework to learn the basics, so you don't drag your team down when you first start.

TLDR; Yes, a very good game, watch some guides and you'll be able to get into the groove pretty quickly.

Great Game. The gameplay is great and it's a real tactical shooter. Some bugs and the AI can do some funky stuff, but it's great for a Early Access, and the devs are working with players to iron out bugs.

8.7/10
