Early Access Review
Updated Review!

So now, this far after early access, I can safely say RoR2 is starting to rival the first game's depth! Still needs more characters and such, but it's fantastic nontheless.

The maps are now much more varied then they were at launch, and the survivors each have their uses. The multiplayer is also fairly fun as well, and seems to be relatively stable and lag-free.

Artifacts are the latest update (At the time of writing this), and it's quite fun to mess with the game just like the first one.

Early Access Review
It's not a bad game, the mechanics are a lot more solid then other games of its kind that release into early access; and the hits feel mostly fair, the powers all feel fairly useful as well.

It has a fairly low playerbase which leads to matchmaking issues, but hopefully the game can pick more people up and we can start filling out matchmaking, it's a fun game. Games don't tend to last TOO long

With plenty of hours on PS4, I decided to get the game on PC as well and try it out.

The game's got the same issues that the PS4 version had at launch, namely the laggy games when someone's got crappy internet, but they'll more then likely fix that as well. The game plays the exact same as the console version on controller, and I haven't had any crashes so far.

It's a little pricey for what it is, and people expecting something like the two original PSP games will be mildly disappointed, as the customization has dropped significantly, but the combat is still solid.

So, a lot of reviews lately have said to be careful of the game, but I have to say, I haven't come across any of the bugs that other people are saying happen.

It's another Kingdom game, the same style of graphics and gameplay as the previous two games, with some nice additions and changes. Though there's a lot of ambiguity with information in the game, requiring players to go to the wiki to see what's worth what or what something does.

The multiplayer is a nice idea, though I'll admit now I haven't gotten to try the co-op, as it appears to be friends only cooperative and nobody on my list owns the game to test it.

Overall though the game is a lot of fun, with a lot of replay value.

No Man's Sky has been in development long enough that the PC problems SHOULDN'T exist. The fact that they do however is kind of a testament to ♥♥♥♥♥♥ optimization and port work. Beware, this game seems to have an 80% chance to be completely unplayable on most computers new and old as of the date of this review (August 12th)

I don't have these crashing problems. I can't seem to replicate them either, on my machine. My specs will be at the bottom of this review. As for the game's content...It is definitely a little varied. But at the same time, it seems... "Samey" at times. Like the variance is more spread out across the MASSIVE universe that most people won't actually see, and only a smaller section seems to come into play (But I've only seen a handful of planets on PC and PS4, about 5 or so...)

There's no real NPC life, outside of standing around space stations, or inside buildings. I'm hoping that Hello Games eventually patches in a little more life, because the planets feel vastly...Empty, with only the procedurally generated creatures to see wandering around. And even then, the creatures only do two things. You feed them, they get you things.

Combat certainly isn't a focus, but it's present, but with the way techs are laid out it almost feels like an afterthought. The game suffers from a severe lack of choices in the techs you can find (At least, in personal experience, but I haven't played through 300 planets or something yet.)

To interact more properly with NPCs, you have to learn Words by visiting obelisks or talking with the one of only three alien races. There's an absurd number of these words, and you'll probably spend 60% of your time at first trying to find these so you can more accurately respond to conversations for positive standing and bonus techs and items.

The developers have come out and said we're going to be getting base building in the first major content update, but the question is what incentive will we have to do this? As the game stands, currently, there's really a whole lot of nothing to do but wandering. Will we be able to terraform, raise animals, anything? Because Hello Games has a pretty large habit of falling silent, I suppose we won't know.

Do I recommend the game? Definitely. It's a great concept, albeit a little expensive for what we actually got out of launch day. We shouldn't have to wait for content updates to see the game fully live up to its potential, but at the same time I'm excited to see what we'll get in the future. I'd personally wait until the game is a lot more optimized graphically, and until we can see some improvements to the content of the world. The procedural generation is EXTREMELY varied, but at the same time it's also somewhat empty feeling outside of the occasional flying creature or something. There's no NPCs walking around mining or fighting. But the game IS gorgeous, and hopefully soon we can see the game in its full potential. I for one look forward to what NMS can do.

Absolutely not. Not even remotely close to what I'd consider a final game, when games like SkySaga come out in early alpha with miles more content then this game. Your 10 dollars are better spent elsewhere.

Most of the early-access promised content was removed for final release, and the content that remained was buggy at best, and utterly unplayable at worst. A lack of a tutorial or ANY help system at all ensures all new players spend their first experience dying constantly, or fighting against a frankly unoptimized UI better suited to console games then PC gamers. The game remained unoptimized for quite a while, and even when optimized the requirements are far too high for what the game's quality actually is. Progression is utterly broken and nonsensical. Crafting in the game is a nightmare requiring materials you're unsure how to get, and even when you finally figure it out, it takes ages to get enough to even get anywhere.

The game developer's only saving grace from showing how money-hungry they truly were by basically backstabbing all early-access supporters was not implementing a cash shop, which I'm frankly surprised they didn't try to gate content off to us. The developers also shamelessly ban anyone that calls them on their antics, claiming anyone with a negative opinion as a troll.
