This game has potential, however, ♥♥♥♥ it is infuriating. The game has a decent amount of content, but man, the combat sucks. The stamina in the game ruins it. Having running, jumping, attacking, building and repairing all requiring stamina is just a recipe for disaster. By mid-game you unlock some decent stamina food, but even then, you can only run for around 20 seconds. This however, doesn't take into account any jumps you may have to use because of the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ terrain design and your character's inability to path over a pebble. AND God forbid you are being chased by an enemy, you have the choice of running for 20 seconds, in which the mobs are the same speed as you, if not faster, or turning around and attacking. This option is still not and less aids then the previous. As you've probably been moving around, exploring the terrain, you won't have 100% stamina at the start of the fight. And by this point you've swung for weapon 2 times and run out of stamina. You then get the pleasure of walking around like a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ nonce with his ♥♥♥♥ in his hand for 30 seconds as the monsters have free reign over you, being completely unable to do anything. These mobs then proceed skull ♥♥♥♥ you until you either die or alt-f4.

I Don't know if the developers play there game on normal mode or they use the godmode to test their content, but ♥♥♥♥, you'd think they would at least at an options in the cheat to allow unlimited stamina, to make this game actually fun.

Honestly as a fan of the series I can say it doesn't live up to the hype the anime is creating. I'll give it praise for creating a new story separate then the anime, however that’s where the praise stops. While admittedly it is quite fun running around as your favourite characters from the series, the only real time you can experience this is in multi-player. The problem with that is, at least on the day of release, in Australia I am able to find next to no games. I found 2 in the span of an hour and after every game had finished, regardless of what option you pressed you were put back into the searching lobby then if you proceeded to not back out you would load into a screen looking at Asta's dumb head and have no choice but to relaunch the game because there were no options.

While the story is original, it uses multiple different animation styles to depict the beloved characters, it uses a combination of 3D style (How actual game play looks) poorly drawn with next to no animation 2D visual novel scenes then it has scenes which look like they come straight out of the anime. While this may not be an issue for some people this was a real turn off, while it wasn't deal breaking, it defiantly did impact my decision of refunding the game.

On the main reason I’m leaving a negative review, along with the long multiplayer wait times, the combat in the campaign is horrendous. You are only allowed to play Asta (at least for the first 5 missions) and if you want to play a different character you have to complete the mission and then replay it again. Besides story wise there is almost no re-playability in the story it’s the same kill a wave of mobs, kill a boss, more mobs and then a big boss... BORING. And the fact that you're forced to play one of the monotonous characters in the entire game is ridiculous. This coupled along with the

$50 price tag there is no way I can recommend this game to anyone besides maybe the very hardcore fans.

TLDR:
Multiplayer is fun - Very low player count long waits
Campaign - Slow, repetitive gameplay (with a bad character)
(also, as a side note for people who are going to comment that I’m just not into grinding games i have 2k hours on black desert so that’s not true)

Don't buy, unless on sale and player count goes up.
