Early Access Review
Fun game, but good lord. This game has been in alpha for 3 years, with FULL FUNDING. This is insane.

Edit:

Holy moley. I had no idea my review would receive any votes, let alone be on of the top ones. So allow me to go into detail so I can justify these votes.

Kerbal Space Program is a fun game. That's really about it. Is it good? Not really. But it is most certantly fun for a bit.

For a few hours it's pleasurable to create a rocket, watch it fail miserably, then start over from scratch or build upon that rocket (personally I found more fun in making planes, but that's just me). For the casual gamer that's really all the ejoyment you'll get out of this game; just watching your creations fail over and over and laughing gleefully as your poor Kerbals die in a firey inferno... you monster. The game is overly complex, but for good reason. Imagine it more like a flight simulator game; directed towards a very small nich of people to enjoy. Sure anyone can get into it and have fun, but you won't truly enjoy it as much as say a space program aficionado. Another thing I might add is that once you discover that one way to build what it is you want to build, you will build it over and over again. If you've played this game a lot you know exactly what I'm talking about. "But you can just build something else!" Of course you can, but if you actually take this game seriously, once you discover a certain rocket build, there is no justifying why you should even consider doing something completely different. I caught myself multiple times building the exact same rocket but with an extra stage or whatever. You can goof around and MAYBE you'll find a different build that works better for you, but at the end of the day, you still aren't doing anything unique.

THE main reason I am not recommending this game is because it's been in alpha for 3 damn years. This early access nonsense needs to be stopped and it won't be stopped by developers who knows how to milk money from the average joe who is willing to throw a couple of bucks at them so they can have the delusional feeling that they're "part of the developmental process." Then the developers throw out a bunch of bug fixes and a couple of major updates once every few months so said joe shmoes can say, "See?! See?! I told you my money wasn't being wasted! They're workin' on it!" I'm all for taking your time to create a masterpiece game, but when you have full funding for a game for many years and throw out a tiny update to keep the joes happy, that's just unacceptable.

I know I am somewhat deviating from the general purpose of reviewing a game. It's to review the game. Overall, would I recommend this game to a majority of people? No. If you take this game seriously, it's frustrating, confusing, complicated, and overall not very satisfying. Sure, you'll get those few minutes of euphoira when you land on the Mun or whathaveyou, but then you go back to square one and end up punching yourself in the face when you realize you need to go back to the tedious and painful process of creating another rocket/space plane/kerbal blender.

Okay, now that they fixed the VAC issue I can give a legit review:

Dark Souls 2 is the worst in the souls series. There are questionable hit boxes, the story is a bore, borderline pointless and boring NPCs, leveling up is tedious, soul memory is horrible, strange envriomental changes, there are moments where you die with literally no clues are given, and moments where things need to be sloved where no clues are given.

However, the worst quality this game suffers from is the "Okay... Now what?" complex. More times than any other souls game you'll be left just wandering around looking for nooks and crannies to get into to progress throughout the story. In Demons' Souls, this wasn't an issue due to a "pick a world" style of level selection. In Dark Souls, the NPCs would subitally hint as to where you go next. Demons' Souls' approach was simple and linear, which is a good and bad thing. Demons' Souls' approach would pratically ensure you get to the end of the game without wandering around, but because of this you are less likely to go around exploring. Dark Souls' approach was more open world, but you could still suffer from just wandering around aimlessly for a few hours. Luckily, clever dialogue from interesting characters allows you to traverse the world with a general idea as to what to do next. Dark Souls 2's attempts what Dark Souls did and fails miserably. Clues are still abound and talking to an NPC MIGHT yield you the answer (most of the time they don't and you just wander around until you find out something), but keep in mind what I said earlier. The NPCs in this game are just boring and uninteresting. You don't want to get involved with these boring characters. You don't care about their story, unlike that of Solair's. So now you wander, and you wander, and you wander and you double and triple check until you find that hidden pathway or doorway. Most of the time through your first playthough will be spent on traveling around while you ponder "Okay, I was JUST HERE! There has to be something!"

That being said, this game is great. The graphics. My goodness are they smooth as butter. Everything just flows nicely at a good 60 fps minimum. The combat is great, possibly the best mechanics in series. The PvP is outstanding, though can be frustrating with some aggravating builds and items (you already know what I'm talking about). The sounds are great, music fantastic. Difficulty wise, this is the hardest of the souls series. Item management is the best it's been. Matchmaking is quick and easy. Bosses bosses bosses!

Overall this is a good game. You will like it. You will die. You will become frustrated. But you'll like it.

Notice how most reviewers only have 2-3 hours of gameplay? Well, there's a reason for that. This game is bland. It's the same thing over and over again. Doesn't matter if you play bacteria, virus, bioweapon, or parasite. No matter what you start as, you well end up doing the same thing: getting cough and sneezing, upgrade water and air transportability, increase cold and heat resistance, get a single point into drug resistance and maybe a point into slowing research, wait until the whole world becomes infected, then upgrade to total organ failure and whatever else you choose to accompany your leathality.
The real "trick" of the game is doing just what I said, but do it quickly. There is little to no challenge to it and there's no reason to deviate from a certain "be all end all" disease build unless you want to roleplay that your disease is unique which causes paranoid people to stay up all night ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ their pants. Regardless, you'll end up getting coughing, sneezing, and segway into total organ failure (and I know you will).
The game costs more than the mobile version and has less content with little to show for. I know it's "unfinished," but these silly early access games keep biting me, and other gamers, in the ass. By the time the game becomes something fun or original, I would have already been left with a sour taste in my mouth with no want to play it again.
