This game is absolutely fantastic, it is the Starship Troopers & ODST game that we have been wishing for for a long while. The gameplay is solid, progression doesn't feel too grindy, the higher difficulties are a challenge, but can be overcome with a good team of friends. I have absolutely loved every hour I have put in this game, and I don't even hold any ill will towards the devs for the rocky start at release owing to more people buying the game than they expected!

EDIT - since Sony bowed to the pressure of the combined might of the Helldivers, I have switched this back to recommended, but I leave the below as a reminder...


The ONLY reason for my negative review, and why you should not buy this game as of the date of this review posting is entirely due to the decision making made by the game's PUBLISHER. Sony's decision to enforce the account linking months after release is abhorrent. Especially as they allowed the game to be sold in regions where their PSN accounts are not available. Whilst they mask this required linking under the guise of security, this is a lie. If the 'security' was so important to them they would not leave their own network vulnerable to attacks, and they certainly wouldn't have loosened the restriction.

Sony's decision lies solely with their desire to harvest data on a market which they woefully do not understand.
