I played the hell out of this game back on release. This games combat system is still my all time favourite and its graphics and design still hold up.
But the port has unfotunately ripped out its soul.
If youre playing multiplayer then you will constantly land on dlc maps which barely anyone has genuine nostalgia for (since they came out late).
But the main issue is that the progression system is utterly linear. No freedom of unlocks and a cheap mobile feeling of progression. The old credit system was still grindy but felt a whole lot more enjoyable. Also the armour system was a hallmark of player individuality and its all kept under the wraps of a monstrously hideous ui that reeks of festering AIDS.
Custom games works fine. Get yourself on a dedicated discord server and youll always be able to join in on a game of splattermonkey or Speed.

So id still recommend it but it has a way to go because atm all its got is gameplay with little all else incentive and individual personality. Small yet powerfully nostalgic pieces which drawn so many to the old reach. I understand the constraints with it being a collection of halo games but that doesnt change it being objectively worse.
