Just a great feeling action roguelike that while feels very different from Blazeblue does take on some of the spirit of fighting games and takes it to a brawler.

A lot of JRPGs are inspired by shounen anime and manga. (Things like One Piece, Dragonball and such) That's all well and good, but sometimes you want something different.

Blue Reflection, like many of GUST's other games, draws more from shoujo manga. (think Fruits Basket and Sailor Moon). In many ways it is a quieter softer game. It's generally about the smaller things in life, and while there is a world saving plot, it's generally secondary and a lot of it is triggered by the mundane. For some people that means this is a dull story about nothing, but for others this is a much more intimate tale than the much more intense Persona games.

In many ways, Blue Reflection is a much more chill persona. No timers, no choices that stop you getting something else. There's no sense of immediate urgency, or intense management. With no equipment, money and HP/MP restoring between every battle the game wants you to focus on combat, story and socialising. Your characters gain stat points by talking to other characters, not a single point of EXP though!

Blue Reflection is a wonderful, charming game, with some pacing and framerate issues. An excellent alternative to Persona, short and if you've been eyeing this for a while but never quite committed because the games press didn't really rave about it, let me tell you you'll probably like it.

Bleed 2 feels like a lost Treasure game, which if that makes sense to you, should be enough.

Omensight is a joy throughout, an enjoyable mystery held up by great combat.

While conceptually it might seem like a drag, in practice the amount you actually repeat is pretty minimal, as each time you return to a location, the combats at least tend to be changed up, or your skill set has expanded.
