Rank -9 in 111 minutes.

For 0,22€ this is by far the game with the best price/performance ratio I've ever played. Just make sure you turn up the volume to max so your neighbors can enjoy the atmospheric audio as well.

Overall solid MMO.

The good:

+ Game pacing, feels really smooth, I stayed in areas to finish all quests just because it feels comfy to roam around and do stuff. Quests are nicely grouped so it feels efficient and not grindy.

+ Environment is well made, the flora is diverse and it feels like a real landscape, not fantasy stuff like in other MMOs. The forests are well designed dungeon like areas with lots of shade. The view distance is awesome.

+ High end geared players don't kill immersion. So far I have yet to see someone that ruins the LOTR vibe. In ESO and WoW it's very easy to encounter tons of players that destroy the Elder Scrolls/Warcraft feeling.

+ Random loot from NPCs does not directly go into your limited inventory but into a 50 slot placeholder menu, from where you can withdraw it within 60 minutes. Really nice feature.

+ The achievement system is rewarding and gives you payment currency for completing kill-achievements and other stuff.

+ Style gear can be bought at traders and equipped, so you can really nicely dress your char even with changing gear during leveling.

+ The characters look good even with the older graphics, female chars are beautiful but not sluddy (rare thing to see).

+ The story is okay, it's the LOTR storyline with side quests that are less important (i.e. you don't have to read those kill- and collect quests and can just grind through them without missing something).

+ It's Lord of the Rings.

+ It's free to play.

The bad:

- Lags. GUDDAM LAGS. The biggest negative thing I can say about this game really.

- Inventory space, three bags á 15 place. Can become very cluttered if you collect stuff and buying new space costs quite a bit payment currency, but can be farmed over longer time ingame doing achievements.

- The graphics are not very modern. This might turn some people off.

Verdict:

Give it a try. It's a comfy game with a well designed game flow and will show you some beautiful landscapes. And it's free.

The great:

Atmosphere (especially the lingering sense of destruction from the starting scene)
Power Armor (feels a bit like a WH40k Space Marine armor, nice)
Certain quests & events (pre astronautics and UFO crashes, lol)

The good:

Crafting, modifying & scavenging for resources
Building your own settlements, populating them, rebuilding society
Gunplay feels gud
Feral Ghouls behave like Zombies (rushing, crashing and lying around "sleeping")
Quick access to Power Armor

The meh:

Radiant quests ("oh btw I got another settlement/group of X/whatever for you to take care of")
The faces (not ugly, but generic; many characters look like they are related)
The dialogues (voice acting) are often a bit stale in comparison to FNV

Overall good sandbox game to explore and build in, would wholly recommend

This game is a weird amalgamation of Deus Ex, Warhammer 40k, Doom and Lovecraftian Horror that has a strong touch of Dark Souls vibes to it, in as much as that you don't really understand the game and what it's about but gradually learn it by ingame clues that are hidden in texts such as dialogues, item descriptions and weird side objectives that only make sense much later.

The combat plays like a mix of Counter Strike Source and Deus Ex, allowing you to use melee and ranged weapons, open combat or stealth, hack people and objects and use implants to make you invisible, see in the dark and so on. It's fun.

The level design is dystopian with strong influences of mega cities and industrial landscapes of barren planets. There is also a lot of monumental architecture and temples, sometimes merged with sci-fi elements such as cables, holograms, etc. It's a weird mix and the proportions are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ insane at times. But in its own way, it somehow works. It's hard to classify and truly unique, which makes it interesting and somewhat difficult to grasp. The proportions on the maps are weird sometimes, as in some sections are long while others feel cramped. It's very disproportional and keeps you on your toes to not miss a detail hidden somewhere in a corner.

Without spoilering the story, you are part of an elite unit in a secret military / intelligence agency faction that is warring with massive interplanetary corporations and another faction of the same secret agency. You enter the game wounded and confused, going through the tutorial and try to make sense of things.

Personally, it took me a long time and substantial spoilers from google until I wrapped my head around what is actually going on in this game. The actual story isn't simply told to you, it's just... happening. And it appears to not make any sense most of the time and essential connections don't reveal themselves until you find the right detail ingame. This (and the funny but crappy translation from French) is why a lot of people are confused by the story and I can't blame them. It's a clusterf... .

But once you understand what is going on you will come to understand all the weird things you encountered along the way. Maybe or maybe not you will be able to relate to the protagonist. Either way, you should have played this game, it's a gem. A rough gem, but a gem nonetheless.

Atmosphere: 9/10
Mechanics: 6/10 (source engine game)

Legendary RPG with some of the best dialogue I have ever experienced in a game (German version!).

Time has taken its toll on the graphics, but that can be amended with modern shaders etc. just check the reviews or google.

The atmosphere of this game is really unique, you get thrown into a prison colony to mine ore for the king and have to find your way around. There are three camps and you have to join one of them. The old camp mines ore for the king, in exchange for wares from the "outer world". The new camp tries to blow up the magic barrier imprisoning you with a massive pile of magic ore. And the swamp camp prays to their deity, the "sleeper", hoping he will free them. And they smoke a lot of swamp weed.

The NPCs talk to you in a realistic manner. At the beginning you are nothing and you get treated as such. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. The save function is your friend. As you progress, you can go more places, since the enemies won't stop you anymore. The map itself isn't that big by modern standards, but it still feels huge due to the lurking danger in forests, caves and sites off the beaten path. Animals and humans pose a real threat to you for the most part of the beginning.

The dialogues though are what make this game pure gold. They're simply authentic, with a lot of crude humor and interesting, even the filler dialogue lines have become running jokes among fans. I find myself spending time ingame just hanging out near the camp fire in the evening, stars and the magic barrier shining above, some guy playing the lute, others drinking, smoking or eating.

10/10 - highly recommended

Very fun game with multiplayer for up to 4 people. You play a Space Marine (yes, there are WH40k mods) and fight aliens with a range of weapons and objects. The maps feature various objectives and obstacles you have to overcome.

The game is fast paced, somewhat claustrophobic, challenging but not unfair. As a free to play title, this can only be recommended. 8/10 good fun

Lovingly brutal survival RPG with base building and exploration in a dystopian Asian phantasy setting. Combat uses real physics and characters are generally rather weak and vulnerable. Various factions and locations to explore and interact with. Dense atmosphere with fun but harsh economic gameplay. 7/10 worth it

Great Space Sim Sandbox, do whatever you want. Mine stuff, kill stuff, explore stuff, trade stuff, craft stuff. Join a CORP ("guild"), do stuff with others. Take risks, make ISK ("money"). Lose ships and learn. Play it safe and slow or fast and risky, possible making millions in seconds.

I recommend getting a cheap starter ship and just flying it right into the most dangerous areas just to desensitize yourself to the sense of danger. Once you calculate risks with a cool mind, you will go places and meet people. Great game, 8/10

First time I played this I was blown away. Combat feels really dense and heavy, each attack slices and crushes the enemy and gets you hyped up. The character moves as a space marine should, heavy and massive. The story is nice and has a few scenes that really impressed me, such as the tragic interactions between space marines and imperial army soldiers. When I first got the game, I played through it like three times in a row. Multiplayer is fun and a bit of a grind, lots of armors to unlock. Definitely worth its money and a must play for every Warhammer 40k fan.

Definately a gold nugget in the genre.

Got me hooked right from the start. Smooth gameplay, "realistic" damage and difficulty and the "certain extra" good games like BF2 had. It's just an overall well made game that has carefully avoided the pitfalls of its predecessors.

The first problem I personally encountered was the limited potential in modding the player meshes (due to hitboxes and cheat prevention), so dear Devs, if you read this, please create more player models to choose from so we can at least use textures more widely. But besides that, there is no issue I remember so far.

The game is fun, the community is above average and it's just a great experience for a low price.

10/10 would totally recommend. Anyone who (like me) enjoyed BF2 back in the day has to give this a try, you hardly can go wrong with it.
