It's cheap and fun!
You are giving choice when acquiring and expanding the skills to upgrade.
You get plenty of characters to choose that play drastically to each other not just minor stat changes.
While it does not have as much as others in it's genre it stands on it's own and makes up for it in artistic design.
It feels retro along the lines of Diablo 1 and 2.
The sound design is satisfying. Hearing bones rattle or imps gasp for air everything has level of bass that makes me toes tingle.
Overall this is a get if you are into games such as Death Must Die and older Diablo titles.

The music and art is awesome and the puzzles ain't to bad either. ♥♥♥♥ the end boss though this game was not made for that ♥♥♥♥. But the game is still pretty cool tho

While the idea of the game is pretty cool the actual act of playing just doesn't work.

I was enticed by the combat with directional attacks and a more deliberate play style.
Combat in this game is gratifying while also maintaining weight to your attacks plus no special effects really get in the way of your ability to see what is going on most of the time. While the game doesn't look that amazing it still keeps the grit of the battlefield present along with beautiful vistas just beyond the horizon. The controls are also topnotch I never felt like the character was not doing what I wanted aside from when the combat got hectic. There are loads of custom armor pieces that can really give you the ability to look however you want. Cool thing is that there is local play so you can play on a closed network or by yourself I can't really remember when a game even had an option like that.

While I was wanting the more cautious deliberate play style most of the time it just becomes a gaggle of people attack from every which way. There was no sense of real direction which I presume is just par for the course when it comes to medieval battles. There are plenty of weapons to help get the job done but most of the time you will just use the spear or a great sword cause of the massive reach they have. Though there is a point system so you can't really go too crazy with what you can take. Does not really matter though most of the time as you can't really do anything cool anyways. Most of the projectile weapons are so slow and time consuming to even ready another shot even with throwing knifes. Though I understand that the main meat of the game was the melee system. Why make ranged attacks so awful to even try and use.

The melee is cool but its funky. Your character will make the same large sweeps with all weapons. A dagger large sweep. A rapier large sweep. A BRANCH large sweep. So even if you parry someone they will still parry you back most of the time cause not matter what the weapon is, it will be a large sweep. Strangely enough even your FISTS will be a large sweeping motion. That's why most anyone in this game will almost always use the strongest weapon they can carry.

There are perks in this game but there is only one good perk in this game. The others are pretty lame I was half expecting something more interesting but that was not the case.

It also did not seem that wearing any type of armor was any good. No matter what you wear you still die in 1 or 2 hits as many people just use the most powerful weapon possible or spam the crap out of you with stabs. While you can chamber the attacks, parry and all that nonsense. Since you will almost never be in a 1v1 with anyone, even if you chamber or parry, someone else is going to knock your lights out more often then naught. I was really looking for a polished game that took more of a thinking mans combat but its more like Smash Bros when there are 4 people with items on.

I usually like to play support most of the time and when I saw the engineer class I was pretty excited. Only thing that sucks though is that you can only have 6 active placements at any given time and your team will more than likely just smash them down anyways cause they just want to run around with nothing in the way. While that sounds like a good idea to make sure no 1 piece of equipment is too powerful. You are playing in a game where the enemy team has 16 players your stuff will be crushed almost instantly.

There are 3 modes front line, battle royale, and horde.

Front line is the premier mode to play. You have two sides that have different objectives that must be completed or until you run the enemy team out of tickets.

Battle royale is more interesting in this game as there aren't that many people fighting all at once so you will fight people for 15 to 20 seconds at the least. This is where the combat really shows itself. This is where planning and skill come into play than the other modes by far and my favorite game to play battle royale so far.

Lastly you have horde while I did not hate it in this game this game really is more of a single combatant at a time kind of game.
So as you go higher into the waves they will send a ridiculous amount of characters that you can't really fight at all. Especially since doing anything takes time. Funnily enough though they still have not added the ability for bots to go up ladders.

Overall not a bad game just you have to really like brawls and mobs if you want to play front line. If you have not burned out on battle royale there is that. Then there is horde which is what it is. This game was draining to play. I normally did not have a whole lot of fun but I was not hating it either. There needs to be way more content for the price they are wanting from this game. I would recommend that you get it on a discount or if you have friends that will play this game with you.
