fun game

Honestly the writing in this game is pretty horrid. The story is forced and none of it makes any sense. You are treated as some type of super hero that doesn't need to do anything to prove yourself. There is no real role playing as all dialogue leads to the same choice. The persuasion mechanic is luck based and is incoherent. AI is very dumb, you could be in a clearly restricted area and the NPC's will act as if its perfectly okay. The planets are bare and the outpost system seems to serve no purpose. There isn't too much variety in gear, combat is way too easy, even on the most difficult setting. Inversely, Space combat is impossible on the highest difficulty. You cannot kill any named NPC, and all side quests are pretty much the same. Planets are boring and contain nothing, the points of interest are all the same, with the same loot, and same enemies. The decisions you make have no real effect on the gameplay and outcome of missions. Ship customisation is broken, I still cannot figure out how it works. The only thing that kept me playing this long is how good the gunplay feels, and the hope that it will get better. I could not bring myself to complete the main quest line out of total non care for the story and characters. I have completed every main side mission - they're way more engaging than the main story itself, with that being said, theyre still repetitive and you're still treated like some sort of super hero throughout

Easily the best game I've ever played. So much depth to explore, seemingly unlimited content to unlock. I've been playing TBOI on and off for almost 14 years and I'm only at 58% completion!

so much wasted potential, Amazon games treats their devs the way they treat their warehouse employees. This game is just as hollow as the CORPORATION that owns it

This game is terrible, 2 boring game modes, 4 terrible maps, almost no weapons, no leader boards, vehicles are over powered

Don't waste your time with this game. The game is reliant on a gentleman's agreement - the devs don't want to balance anything about their game. The community is toxic, and the elo/ranked system makes less sense than the Ontario governments COVID restrictions.

Instantly hooked, not even close to being able to understand this game, love the challenge and learning curve. 10/10
