Pseudoregalia is a movement based 3D platformer Metroidvania with PS1-esque retro graphics and presentation. Combat is minimal and unimportant with the exception of an opening boss and a final boss. Every other bit of content and challenge in the game lies in platforming and navigation.

I am very happy to say, therefore, that the movement and platforming are extremely good. The game's controls and the player character's moves feel superb.

There are quite a few advanced techniques, some documented and some not. Using these advanced techniques allows for significant sequence breaking, which takes an already nonlinear game and turns it into the kind of "break it wide open" Metroidvania experience that genre veterans will appreciate. There are plenty of optional pickups along the way -- abilities, stat boosts, unique bonuses and cosmetics all included -- but the lack of a map or a percentage meter makes gathering everything a dizzying and daunting task.

For those who aren't sure they vibe with the thick goat lady, pants are available on the options menu.

Captain Forever Trilogy is a set of three small, simple games where you pilot a ship that's built out of faux Legos and use it to blow up other ships made of Legos. Defeating your enemies and improving your ship are a stone's throw from each other and form a sliding scale: when you explode a ship, any parts you didn't destroy are yours for the taking.

The strategy this simple mechanic leads to is one of a kind. Do you need more guns? Well, your enemies will get to keep firing until the moment they die, adding a huge element of danger. If you immobilize a ship by destroying its boosters, you won't be able to salvage said boosters. Blasting every single block off an enemy accomplishes nothing for you in the end, so you will find yourself picking your fights carefully like a predator. Hunt down the ships with exploitable weaknesses and steal their equipment or reconfigure your vessel in the middle of a firefight to avoid damage to critical components.

This game does not have much to do or achieve. You can beat all three games in a single hour. Much of the value of this game comes from replayability, continuously testing new designs or challenging yourself or what have you.
