As promised, I'm editing my review. And it is going to be more or less a positive one. I have to admit they got me with the microtransactions boys... As every new and gullible Warhammer 40 000 fan, who has come from maybe Vermintide or Space Marine I had to get some Death Korps of Krieg or Rogue Trader collaboration skins. With that out of the way a quick spoiler free review.

Story:

It's pretty simple really - it's there. And that is pretty much all. If we are judging it only by that criteria, this game falls in the category of "One of the games ever made". Not saying this game needs or should include a multi-million dollar, Sony Movie quality story.

Gameplay:

It's really good. The first person moment to moment action - hacking and slashing the Nurgle chaff, using ranged weapons to take down elite enemies - its all great, peak gameplay. With the addition of the new talent trees for all Operators the variety is on point. You can fill different roles, both offensive and defensive . You can tweak and tailor your weapons to be an extension of your build using the Shrine of the Omnissiah . Although prepare to farm for materials.... a lot of materials...

Customization:

In-game achievement based cosmetics can be unlocked through various challenges that are completed while on a mission. They are fitting for the aesthetic of the game. Sadly, there is not much variety after that. The Ordo Dockets shop for the most part is very bland, especially the weapons section. This makes the player turn his sight on the in-game currency (irl cash) shop. There anyone can find a variety of skins on offer, both for your character and weapon, including some really strong choices (as mentioned above sets resembling troops from the Death Corps of Krieg , etc.). A new option to Inspect Players in the helm of the ship (probably so you can see the name of the irl cash shop skin bought) has been added.
With all that in mind a feature that is sorely missed is the ability to customize the attachments on your ranged weapon. If you were hoping to swap around the sight of your favorite Lasgun and tailor it closely to your taste, you will be left disappointed. You wanted to have your friend Knife poke at your enemies instead of that mostly (but not entirely) pointless flashlight - too bad. You can't and that's a shame. Will such a feature ever be added - who knows, I certainly hope so.

The rest of the game:

This section includes elements like music, atmosphere, graphics, etc. And it's all great. Makes you feel like you are inside this enormous universe. All believable, all amazing, gets you in the mood .
Usually an underrated part of a game - the music, is simply sublime, which is to be expected of the guy that created one of the most iconic soundtracks in gaming - Assassins's Creed, Assassins's Creed: II, Assassins's Creed: Revelations and many others (I can't be bothered to list them all, just google Jasper Kyd ).
If you have a good rig, graphically the game is gorgeous (not literally - it's a depressing utopia-gone-wrong hive world full of steel, death and Nurgle corruption)

Conclusion:

The game is epic with a group of friends, strong with a friend and good alone. Buy at your own risk :)

The game is amazing. The story is strong and the environments are great. The game is a blast to play through, though it has its issues (PC port related). Strongly recommend if you are a fan of the Roman Empire (like me). The combat is easy to learn, and very rewarding (visually).

I love this game. And my friends ask me - "Why do you love it so much"? And i answer - "Instead of getting cancer playing with you n00bs i want to chill. And this is the perfect game for that". My advice - grab a beer (or juice if you are under 18 (or under 21 if you are in the USA)), sit comfortably in your chair, play some nice music and relax.

Edit: Its more fun with steering wheel. Still awesome even without.

Edit: Its 2019 and the game still gets new updates regularly! I can finally drive in my home country!
