This is a worthy successor to Field of Glory Empires, anyone that enjoys strategy games should get it. All the issues I've run into on release have been ironed out, and there weren't that many. It's had time to bake in the oven, and will now feed your whole village. So grab it and go burn someone else's!

Absolute gem

The best RTS no one plays, unfortunately.

It's been my GOTY pick since April.

It still is, fantastic strategy game in almost every respect.

Get it already.

Saw this was free for a weekend, and figured what the heck? I played it for an hour and a half, and uninstalled it.

I came back in the evening, and tried it again just out of disbelief.

It really is that bad, yikes. Man, it would be a laundry list to describe everything wrong with it. Awful controls, the wrong players show up in the in-between play cutscenes (even on the wrong side of the ball, or not in the game), the announcers get things wrong way too much, and can't tell a field goal apart from a touchdown.

I feel bad for anyone wanting a decent football game, this isn't it. I lost it at the "are you having fun" page, this is like a bad joke. I grew up playing the earlier games, especially Madden 64 & 2001. Haven't touched one in a while and am going to keep it that way!

I can't even remember the last time the story of an RPG engaged me this much, I can't even think of one that beats it in that department either. This is an absolute gem, get it and enjoy every bit of it. I binged it hard on a weekend, and can't wait to do another run. There's so much more I want to figure out and witness.

There are a handful of issues & bugs, and a couple of rough edges, but the game is just tooooo goooood. I don't say this lightly, this is now in my top 5 favorite rpg's of all time.
