This is a true From Software game with all of the previous titles' features and some new ones. It is a difficult game and may not be for everyone, but there are some game mechanics (summoning other players is one of it) to make the experience easier. It has a wide variety of character builds with decent character customization. The environment design and music is to be highly commended too.

More enemy variety compared to Doom 2016 including returning demons from Doom 2. Also demons have "destructible parts". New enemy species to spice things up more, these are the corrupted makyrs. Exciting cutscenes; interaction of the Doom Slayer with regular humans are refreshing to see. More than two (2) environment types (sentinel world) and new weapon interactions (plasma makes enery shield explodes).
No hitscan enemies make the game feel more fair. Low ammo capacity encourages more badass gameplay.
