played the entire game in one sitting while a guy came over to install a new door of mine. Sadly on his way out he tripped on one of my sandal, fell down the stairs and suffered a neck fracture.

The brightest star of this game are the devs. I have no idea how any of the devs are personally nor have I ever talked to any of them. But what I do know is that this game gets frequent updates, both quality of life and new content for players to enjoy, despite the fact that this game is a 100% free for the players. Search up gameplay of this game from 2020 and compare it to the gameplay of 2022. The quality of everything is grealy improved and things are frequently reworked when the community feels like stuff has gotten outdated.

Modding of servers is very frequent so even if the devs messes up with the numbers and stats of the thingies, server owners are free and able to fix stuff their own way.

Only real complaint I have is the community being filled with kids who saw a free game, decided to download it and then start deepthroating their trash black metal mic. But, finding a good server with strict rules solves this problem.

was introduced to this game by my colleges weekly "Smite Night". it was an absolutely awful experience and I'm very certain that 7 of the 18 guys that were present had some sort of restraining order filed against them. One of the times was a mascot event and everyone came dressed up as Thor, arguing was inevitable.

Note: I'm a 100% F2P who didn't focus too much on vertical progression, most of my time was spent on collectibles and horizontal progression. At the time of this review, I had four characters:

Paladin (Main): 1385
Sorceress: 1340
Berserker: 1325
Sharpshooter: 600

Lost Ark is a fantastic game ruined by a greedy company trying to get every single last penny out of its customers.

While lore being a pretty small part that most don't care for in MMOs, I still found the story and cinematics enjoyable to learn and read about. Despite its clichés and somewhat dull dialogue writing, it still manages to charm you with the world and characters you meet along the way. Nothing award winning, but I've seen much worse.

Arkesia is amazingly built and the Lost Ark devs utilizes its camera and perspective shifting beautifly to their advantage when they want to showcase level design and graphics. This is amazingly showcased in the Yorns final story quest dungeon.

Combat system can be described as a mix between Hades and the Diablo franchise. This makes boss fights feel very interactive and fun. I don't have much more to say about this part since so many before me have already made great points and gone further into detail.

The most amazing part of Lost Arks gameplay is the gigantic amount of horizontal progress that Lost Ark has to offer. There are so many collectibles and events to do that might seem useless at first, and many would assume that they are. But no, Lost Ark encourages you to work towards these "pointless" goals by rewarding you with Mounts, pets, toys and in most cases, just overall perma upgrades and buffs that are shared across your entire account. Roster progression with the horizontal content is the peak of Lost Ark and I encourage anyone that reads this atleast try some of it.

Endgame is mostly timegates and a grind. This is where most of the negative reviews stem from, and their critique is fair. I, and many before me say that this is caused by Amazon trying to waste your time and make you spend more time in-game and possibly trying to frustrate you to the point of you grabbing your credit card and swiping away until you see the credits.

Looking at the korean version of Lost Ark it is clear that it's an amazing game that is hindered by Amazons greed, I don't blame the Amazon devs who get so much hate. I believe that even if the devs would love to make our experience better, they aren't allowed to by the higher ups in the company. I have faith that the US/EU release of Lost Ark will get better, but for now I don't think I'll continue playing it.

I recommend anyone who plans on trying to Lost Ark that they enter this game with a casual mindset. Have fun and enjoy every bit of it, don't let people from either side try to take that fun away from you.
