You're going to die.
A lot.

Intravenous is what you get when you mix the old Splinter Cell games with Hotline Miami, but make it twice as fast.
The stealth mechanics utilize light levels, sound, and movement.
The combat is fast-paced and brutal.
And the AI is shockingly smart - as in, when an enemy walks through a doorway and you blow them away, they don't all just rush in after you. They call out where you're hiding and go to take cover.
When they investigate areas they can call out to nearby enemies or radio them to assist them in the search.
And their searches are VERY thorough.
Almost everything you do will be recorded and shown to you on the end screen of every level, which is going to be very handy for speedrunners.
There isn't enough good I can say about this game.
The dev did a great job and this game is 100% worth checking out.

I said it when I got to play the early build of the game several months ago and I'll say It again now,
Intravenous is a top-down shooter that actually stands out in a very saturated market.

Several hundred years into the future,
Man has achieved interplanetary space travel.
They looked to colonize one of Jupiter’s moons; Europa.
But the surface was far too irradiated for human life, so they dug down into the ice.
Under the ice surface, they would establish themselves in a vast ocean.
Trading spaceships for submarines and a star filled sky, for a star-crossed wasteland.

An alien realm where your steel coffin does little to protect you from the dangers of this world,
the indigenous species claws and teeth,
Marauder’s and pirate’s guns and blades,
And after succumbing to the Velonaceps Calyx Parasite, your own crew.

Even the water itself - should you be caught in the deep without a high-pressure diving suit, the weight of the water will collapse your lungs and crush your bones.

Something referred to as Barotrauma.

But the massively abridged version is that this game is definitely worth a buy if you have a few friends and enjoy games that require a dash of the 'tism.'

Firstly, my 'hours played' isn't accurate, I've played more than it shows. I had a weird stint where Steam Overlay didn't work for a couple weeks and blah blah.

Anyway, this game is great.
It's one major feature, one that people either love or hate, is that it's a true sandbox. At this point, there is no objective, no beginning - middle - or end.
You choose a specific start (the starts that you choose from are kind of a template of the type of role play you're looking for) then.... well, whatever you want.
Want to go over there? Do it. Want to start a base up and make it into a city sim? Have at it. Want to slaughter everyone in a town? Knock yourself out. There's a lot of stuff to do, but some people can't find enjoyment in doing it if they don't have something the game is telling them to work forward to - which isn't a bad thing, people can like whatever they want.
There's a lot to be had in this game;
- Party Based RPG
- Squad Management (multiple squads)
- Buy/Sell Merchant sim
- City Builder & Management
- Pickup and play for fifteen minutes or hours
- It's... Just a giant sandbox, you can do damn-near anything.

Something that I wont add to the list of it's features is its modibility, it's ridiculously easy - but there's only like, ten mods made for it, which is for the best anyways since the next planned update to the game is an entirely new map.
If you like games that blend fifty different genre's together and don't mind there not being a point, you'll most likely enjoy this game as much as I have.
There's a wierd 'either love it or hate it' review battle with this game, people claiming that if you say something bad about the game then you're an idiot and if you say somehting good about it you're a ravenous fanboy - the old "Everyone's opinion matter as long as it is in full support of mine" rhetoric seen in all games/movies.
Honestly, it's a great game that has come a long, loooong way, and it gets exponentionally more fun with each update.

TL:DR -
- A ton of genre's slapped together very well.
- Almost out of Alpha; soon to be fully featured.
- Has no end goal - you make you're own up (in true roleplay fashion)
- Can be played as little or as often as you want, there's currently (may not ever be) actual missions, so there's no "Let me just finish this part"
- I like it, you might like it, try the demo (yeah, it has a demo, for some reason video game companies refuse to make demos anymore) it's available on the Lo-Fi website (steam too?)
