DLC has given a huge amount of extra content and the content is very engaging. Not to mention the very story rich characters to go with you to whom you are introduced. The DLC also Gives you a taste of the horrors that you can find on these ships through the warp. I recommend this DLC.

Great game, absolutely stunning decorations and appearance. Fantastic voice acting and a truly intriguing and fun story. You are also recognized in the game as a player, and I truly love this game. I was a part of the alpha testing and this game is stunning.

I recommend this game to everyone.

I have a few things to say about this game. Bear in mind I have only played 40 hours at the time of writing this review.

The only reason I make this a thumbs up is because the main game itself outweighs the negative parts of the game.

THE BAD
1. Characters - There are several flaws that makes the game lacking, or not as good as it could have been. One of the topics is characters placed around in the world. One mention is Vladimir Sall. He is a dark skin colored man with a Russian name, Russian clothes, Russian accent, Russian face/traits. It doesn't make sense for him to be colored dark on his skin because it just doesn't fall natural with the genes, language and today's society. It feels like they made these characters like that just to appease political views or society rules. It doesn't stick to how things are in terms of appearance. It's like making Cleopatra dark skinned instead of white. Some people also pointed out that all the white are villains? I don't stand with that. There are plenty white people, but I rather want each individual to be showing traits from his culture and birthplace rather than borrowing such traits from cultures turning them into something they aren't. They can argue it's space and fictional, but they clearly borrowed clothing, language and culture from real life Russia w/ Sall.

2. Rewards - This was a big bummer for me. I played two factions and the rewards don't feel rewarding at all. I didn't get promoted in a faction you would expect it. After performing outstanding work, beyond what any human would be able to accomplish, you never see any recognition by promotion, medal, ceremonies that award you or anything special to recognize you for the actions you did. Saved the galaxy? Thanks mate! Here is another mission and 2000 bucks. The main faction does little to nothing to award the player, and I don't feel special about the rewards given for the actions done. In UC: You are awarded Citizenship, something that supposedly takes 10 years to accomplish. And later that citizenship is upgraded. But what about the Vanguard military faction you joined? So you are not gonna get recognised there? No promotions at all? Your companion is reinstated to become a Major, but you are left at Captain? After everything you did you should've been a colonel. The same thing in Ruijin Industries. You become a field operative, and when you finish everything you become a Senior Field Operative. You could've taken over the entire company, but that they won't let you do in the faction quests.

3. Fast Travel, Gameplay - There is A LOT of fast traveling. Why not make each planet with unique ideologies, societies, dictatorships, military leaderships, democracies, technocracies and other shapes and forms. They could have really expanded the territory here and made actual empires and cities that each have unique characteristics. Instead there is only a few outposts, a city and perhaps some research labs on a planet. You don't feel like you are in an actual society with lots of people. The player should be able to influence, partake and witness such societies and governments take place. Leading them into one or the other directions. But in this game, the world feels barren and since planets lack an actual structure of society, you are required to fast travel from one planet to the other to add up the missing pieces. Like, some of these cities that exist could have been on the same planet with borders. While other planets have other interesting nations with their own politics.

4. The Map is a joke. There is no local map. You need to find a specific store in one of the cities? Good luck! It'll take you some good time searching because there is no map showing you where you have been or where things are. You only have the icon of the city. This is TERRIBLE. Neither TES nor Fallout had that bad of a map.

5. THE PERK SYSTEM is HORRIBLE. You can't lockpick without a perk. You can't pickpocket someone without a perk. I got a mission with an alternative mission I couldn't do. Why? Because I didn't have a skillpoint put into pickpocketing and he had the key in his pocket?! The same thing goes for using systems on your spaceship. You can't use them because you didn't invest into the perk. It's ridicilous! Perk points should give you bonuses and actual skill you up. Not prevent you from using core features. It would be 10 times better if they want it to be a bit more realistic that you LEARN how to do these things rather than block it behind some stupid perk system. Perk system sucks!

6. VERY poor optimization. The game needs to be better optimized. Atomic Heart was INSANELY good optimized, NO LAG, and you could run the train and do everything you wanted and more with similar or equally good graphics still no lag. It just won't do, they need to fix it.

7. We need more countries/nations. There is a lack of high tech space-federations or evil space factions that are imperialistic or oppressive in nature with organized governments. There also needs to be more private companies that play a big role in space - mega corporations is also a thing - owning entire planets. I haven't explored enough so I haven't met so much yet to make an opinion, but the main factions did not give me that impression.

So I wrote 7 BAD things here, and there is plenty more things that will make you question your sanity.

GOOD things.

1. The game has a lot of great quests and stories. Despite requiring you to travel a billion miles back and forth, you will find something in Starfield that satisfies you in terms of quests. I find most satisfaction coming later in the game. I have not done the main quest, so I can't speak about that, I went straight on secondary quests and faction quests. I consider factions a huge part of the game and is something that should be highly focused. I miss the chance of the player taking leadership of a faction, but I have not played the game enough to encounter such an option at this time.

2. Unique landscapes and planets. The terrain and planets are well made. I am very satisfied with the way planets are. What didn't satisfy me is the lack of population, unique countries, technologies, and so on to represent an actual situation in Space. Not every planet is highly developed, and not every society meets the technological breakthroughs we expect to see. For example - Africa is the most resourceful continent in the world, but they are still the least developed continent on earth.

3. Weapons & uniforms are good, I wish there were more unique weapons for each planet and culture. But since such diversity doesn't really exist, the weapons that do exist feel refined and useful. There could be more clothing in my opinion. I can't loot someones clothes off him like in Fallout and TES. But it is easy to find different uniforms, spacesuits, helmets etc around places.

4. Ship customization is really extensive. I think the ship customization looks to be a well made system. I haven't gotten into it but looked at it and saw you can build your ship and the ability to customize is really good.

5. The main companions are good, and most story character have distinct and unique personalities. I can't complain about it, and there will definitely be moments where you get a laugh based on what is going on or being said by your companion or someone you meet. There is a LOT of dialogue, so be prepared to talk a lot.

I can just say that the game needs a LOT of mods to loop out these holes. I really hope Bethesda will work a lot more on this game too, because it feels like it lost 1 year of development or the budget getting cut down. I hoped with my entire heart that the game would be recognized positively because it means more mods and more interest for the game. But I strive to say that these issues are issues that should be resolved. They can easily make the game appeal to everyone by giving choices in the game dialogue. Thank you for reading.

I give it a thumbs up but with heavy critique. I played it with a friend through the movie story using remote play, which worked fine despite some hiccups with the streaming. Overall I believe I would have rated the game 6/10. I do support the Dark Anthology games as they do make for an interesting game play with friends. Personally I wouldn't have played these games by myself in single-player.

Straight to the point:
Ignoring the introduction of the game and straight to the actual group you're playing - So we enter this area and mysterious things happen. You soon realise things aren't as they should be which should be expected from entering a murder hotel that this game is about.

Starting with the negative

The camera at times doesn't feel right, and sometimes it just seem way too close. The same can be said with pointing light at things and it just felt jerky. I can also say that it makes hard to find things when everything is dark literally 90% of the time and your groups items are real bad at illuminating. Also: What is the point with giving a super good flashlight near the end of the game when you don't need it? Troll us?

Throughout the game, several times there are things that just doesn't make any sense at all example the big flashlight. In several scenes people don't react according to how they would in real life. Things that make no logical sense - like people not hearing sounds they would of heard in real life. People who ignore facts and information that was just put right in front of them. A superb example of this is in the end of the game which I must say felt rushed and open. There was no closure to a game that needs closure. There's no continuation to this game planned.

If you don't mind spoilers you can read in more detail below.
SPOILER ALERT: In the ending you run down the lighthouse to a boat where you see this State police guy who arrive. He finds a body and sees your group meet him head on and starts pointing his gun at your group as they appear in front of him. Then the killer throws a molotov cocktail right on his boat behind him, and you tell him "Look behind you!!". No heeeeeck no he won't. Because he don't believe a group of 5 people. Let's also add that this guy pops out of nothing - most likely as a reaction to the lighthouse being lit. But he is alone and lasts a couple minutes before the end of him.

What happens is the cop doesn't hear the molotov cocktail made of a glass bottle shatter against his boat right behind him despite the distance being a couple meters behind. He doesn't react at all to the fire that now surrounds his entire boat - like if he wouldn't notice that in the dark with his side vision - or the light it would generate in the dark. Instead the guy reacts like: No no no I won't listen to you guys!!!" And then he is viciously killed by the killer who assaults him with an axe. Just what? How can you not notice something like that???? AND THE BOAT EXPLODES! HOW DID IT EXPLODE? Does the state police trooper carry explosives in his boat? What happened! There was a humongous explosion that threw him forward with zero context!

Then you do a fight with the killer and he falls down into the water with some sea anchor embedded in his chest. Surprise surprise he is still alive in the end! I didn't see that coming as predictable as this game has been with constant uno-reverses used in this game! So after all this, after I cry and sweat and cry more trying to get through this game despite scenes making no sense and being highly unpredictable due to the killer being everywhere - he is still alive and in business with starting a new hotel. Okay, fine I think. There was a chance that he would survive and continue after all. Despite everything. Even if it makes no sense he would have started a new hotel and gotten away with it.

But wait there's more! A new group is watching the news which explain this exact thing happening. Then this girl runs in and tells them hey!! I won this amazing trip to this hotel from Du'Met (THE KILLER!) he will transport us with a limousine! LET'S GO!!! And the group? "AWESOME!!! THAT'S COOL!! LETS GO!" like WHAT!! YOU JUST SAW ON THE NEWS EXPLAINING THE KILLER DOING EXACTLY THAT WITH THE DOCUMENTARY GROUP - NOTHING SUSPICIOUS HUH? So yeah, no. Human reaction&Logic 0/10. Let's not talk about the fact how the killer would have been caught the moment he started a new hotel in the exact same manner. But rationality & realism is something this game lacks.

The positive about the game is that it had a nice atmosphere, despite feeling cramped. You understand the killer and the people more and more as you read through the documents and info put through the game. You understand his background, what he enjoys and why he enjoys doing what he does and so on. Overall the game feels like it manages to replicate something a disturbed person like that would enjoy. It is fun to play with friends, and I think the game is either a love and hate thing. This game would be better if you ignore all the stupid things that happen in the game.

In addition - In all fairness, it would make more sense if the documentary crew stayed at least one day before they were exposed to his scheme to end them. That way he would have time to study them a bit more in his environment. But it is what it is.

Gameplay 5/10
Story 7/10
Events: 5/10
Characters 5/10
Obstacles/puzzles/challenges 6/10

Overall: 6/10

Before buying I recommend buying the game if you are especially interested after making some research or if the game is on discount.

Decent game, however my disappointment is immeasureable, and my day is ruined because of U-can'tplay.

Entered game to try get co-op to work with my friend. Restarted game only to be asked to re-enter password again after JUST playing the game. Wrote my password several times, and was locked out of my account - SUSPENDED for writing the wrong password.

CHANGED my password and was told "YOU CAN'T USE THE SAME PASSWORD YOU RECENTLY HAD!"

Uplay, WHAT the HECK? I'M lAUNcHING fROM StEAm!!!!
